Alinsky Acolytes at the Vatican

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” ~Saul Alinsky

Chicago was home of Saul Alinsky, the infamous founder of community organizing, who penned his infamous manifesto, Rules for Radicals. Borrowing a page from his creed for leftists, Alinsky encourage political operatives to agitate, foster resentments, fan hostilities and create a mass army of malcontents. ACORN, SEIU and other union thug organization serve as the model Alinsky community organizations.

Hailing from the rough and tumble political landscape of Al Capone and the Daley machine, where politics is a blood sport, the hard ball politics played by the Vatican are very familiar, albeit problematic. One wonders what happened to the mercy papacy?

The political gloves have come off operatives at the Vatican who are engaging in hardball partisan political tactics. One doesn’t expect that an organization known otherwise, as the Seat of Peter, the Holy Roman Church, The Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican, the Papacy, and the Holy See would start hurling political invectives at faithful Catholics. Yet, it is happening at the Vatican. Welcome to the papal Alinsky Adherents.

One of the most menacing of the Alinsky Rules is to ‘ridicule your opponent’. In the face of opposition, Alinsky recommends that you demean, scoff, and infuriate your enemy. Name calling is always the desired tactic of harassment. Lately, this is the tack of choice by the Pope’s minions. Enter Bishop Sanchez Sorondo, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences (PASS), and mastermind of the radical papal environmental agenda. PASS serves as the launching pad (sorry, NASA), for the radical climate change/global warming/UN sustainable development agenda.

In response to criticism that he excluded and barred diverse scientific opinions on climate change, and inexplicably, only invited rabid UN pro-abortion advocates, Bishop Sorondo responded with what can only be described as Alinsky rancor and venom. His baffling hostility and defensiveness spoke volumes.

Are Catholics to remain silent when the Vatican opens the bronze doors of St. Peter’s to population control disciples and abortion proponents like Jeffrey Sachs, Hans Schellnhuber, Naomi Klein, Ban Ki Moon, Governor Jerry Brown, NY Mayor Bill de Blasio? These hand-picked papal advisors cause faithful Catholics great consternation, not only because they represent only one side of the environmental debate, but more troubling, they embody moral views in direct contravention to the theological teaching of the Catholic Church.

What is going on at the Vatican? Why are the Church Fathers actively embracing individuals who are virulent opponents of Church moral teachings? One of the Vatican advisors is Jeffrey Sachs, who has been invited 7 times to keynote Vatican eco-conferences and draft papal documents! For the last 25 years, Sachs led and promoted legalized abortion and population control in his various roles at the UN, including his latest as director of Sustainable Development Goals. This papal advisor defies any rational defense, and confounds Catholics as a theological and moral head scratcher.

So, when criticism arises over the skewed selection of papal experts at the PASS, Bishop Sorondo dusts off Rules for Radicals and engages in political hard ball name calling. Case in point, when the Heartland Institute delegation of preeminent climate scientists raised objections about the partisan, unscientific, anti-life stance of all the Vatican experts, Bishop Sorondo unloaded. Bishop Sorondo unleashed a torrent of demeaning barbs, calling the Heartland 7 “Tea Partiers,” and “Deniers who funded by oil interests”. Then, Sorondo finished off with an arrogant flourish, “we can invite any one we want.” Testy, eh? Not so merciful, your Eminence.

Sorondo’s blatant character assassination and over-reaction to criticism is so revealing. His bullying betrays a radical political agenda at work at the PASS. It continues.

This week, the name-calling at the Vatican persisted as Governor Jerry Brown (D-CA), a rabid supporter of abortion and LGBT rights, and a radical environmentalist (all essential qualities for Vatican experts), described scientific dissenting voices as “Troglodytes”. His diatribe continued as he peddled that deniers of climate change are spending “billions on trying to keep from office people such as yourselves and elect troglodytes and other deniers of the obvious science.” Brown castigated climate deniers for their “fierce opposition and blind inertia” and their attempts to “falsify the scientific record” to persuade scientists, politicians and the American people that global warming does not exist. End of discussion, no deniers need apply.

The debate was shut down before it even started by the Alinskyites guarding the Vatican gate. Their behavior exposes an agenda that obscures the truth and conceals the radical agenda from scrutiny. This is machine politics, plain and simple; the goals are censorship, intimidation, discrediting, and a smear campaign against any dissenters. One would expect this from a Chicago precinct captain, but it’s quite unbecoming of a Prince of the Church. Yet, the Vatican overplayed its hand. Their invective and cunning tactics expose the cover up: the big lie of global warming.

Legitimate and credential scientists know that global warming is a hoax perpetuated by radical environmentalists for the sole purpose of imposing a one global government upon the world. The climate change scheme provides the perfect vehicle to seize control, and force redistribution of wealth through carbon taxes and fines. The Vatican has chosen the side of the big lie. This papacy is perpetuating the global warming myth by aligning with the most pernicious enemies of the Catholic Church. Indeed, politics makes strange bedfellows.

Go ahead, call us names. We will not be deterred or intimidated. We will defend Holy Mother Church. We will defend the truth. And the truth will set us free.

“But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth, we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.” ~2 Corinthians 4:2

Blaming that tired-ass Alinsky crap for everything is getting old.

Mockery existed for thousands of years before Alinsky.

This is simply appealing to human nature. It is essentially what Trump has done with illegal immagration.......and it is working.

The narrative is we should all feel sorry for these poor folks and the hell holes they live in.....so they need to come here. He has turned the arguement on it’s head and he average joe is coming around to exactly how devastating this is for America. Improving the lives of others has nothing to do with them coming here.

Thanks for mentioning Satan. You say Alinsky was the founder of community organizing, which is a blatant lie and not worthy of a FR post. Alinsky says Satan was the first community organizer. Certainly there were community organizers at the Tower of Babel, and throughout Biblical History, Greco-Roman history and probably every human history.

What Alinsky did was act as aggregator to pull together the tactics into a couple books and thousands of classes and mentorships.

Like a hammer or any tool, the tactics are ideologically neutral for the most part. Both the Pope, Rush, Hilary and Trump ridicule the opposing voices. Both left and right lie. eg say someone is the founder when he isn’t.

Currently the anti-illegal immigration rhetoric is mostly based on precisely the same Malthusian-Guttmacher premises that are the basis for extreme environmentalism.

It should also be noted that Alinsky ideas have dominated major portions of the Catholic Church since the early 60s with special mention to the historically largest archdiocese that provides more money to the Vatican than any other, namely the archdiocese of Chicago whose religious are mostly extremist Alinsky.

And, of course, Maryland, the historically Catholic state gave us Alinskyite Msgr Geno Baroni who created the Mortgage crisis based on Alinsky tactics.

Blaming Alinsky.. or rather CREDITING him.. for basic human nature is stupid.

Mockery is a part of man, always has been.

Check your bible.. which I think predates Alinsky by a couple of years.

Alinsky dedicated his book, “Rules for Radicals”, to Lucifer.

I’m sorry you don’t see the connection.

He could have copied “See Spot Run” and dedicated it the same way..

You give a lot of credence to his scribblings. I don’t.

No worries.

I give no credence to Satan nor Alinksy’s or your writings. They all are the same.

Yet you referenced Alinsky’s as relevant.

True, weak minded lemmings might find them to be so.

And let's not forget Margaret Archer, fiendish president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

-----------

"A row has broken out between the most senior woman at the Vatican and an American pro-life advocate...

...“I am appointed by the Pope and responsible directly to him. I’m afraid that leaves you and your cohort out in the cold,” she said...

...She went on to say: “Why are we not allowed to speak to Jeffrey Sachs or the Secretary General of the UN?” Pointing out that Pope Francis had invited Ban Ki-moon to a private audience, she asked Dr Gennarini: “Do you really have a higher moral standard than the Pope? Or is your own minimalistic version of the Creed, consisting of the single item: ‘We believe in the ethical depravity of abortion’ considered to be an improvement?”

On the population control -- ask them this.

G. K. Chesterton

"Surplus population"

"SCROOGE is not only as modern as Gradgrind but more modern than Gradgrind. He belongs not only to the hard times of the middle of the nineteenth century, but to the harder times of the beginning of the twentieth century; the yet harder times in which we live. Many amiable sociologists will say, as he said, "Let them die and decrease the surplus population." The improved proposal is that they should die before they are born.

"It is notable also that Dickens gives the right reply; and that with a deadly directness worthy of a much older and more subtle controversionalist. The answer to anyone who talks about the surplus population is to ask him whether he is the surplus population; or if he is not, how he knows he is not. That is the answer which the Spirit of Christmas gives to Scrooge."

~G.K. Chesterton: Introduction to A Christmas Carol. (1922)
