Swiss Gay Group Files Criminal Complaint Against Catholic Bishop for Old Testament Speech

A gay rights group has filed a criminal complaint against a Roman Catholic bishop after he quoted Bible verses calling for gay people to be killed and said the passage made clear what Church policy was on homosexuality.

Vitus Huonder, the Catholic Bishop of the city of Chur in eastern Switzerland, made the speech on 31 July, during a debate on marriage and family organised by the German Catholic Forum in Fulda, Germany.

According to Swiss media reports, Huonder, 73, read out a passage from Leviticus 20:13: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." His reading was followed by applause, before Huonder continued: "Both of these passages alone suffice to clarify unambiguously the church's position on homosexuality," according to a statement released by Pink Cross, an umbrella association for Swiss gay groups that is filing the complaint.

Pink Cross, supported by the Swiss Lesbian Organisation, argues that these comments amount to "inciting people to crime or violence," and handed a lawsuit to the public prosecutor of Canton Graubünden in eastern Switzerland on Monday. If found guilty, Huonder faces up to three years in prison.

OBEY GOD!
SEND 'EM TO HELL !

Homosexuals aren't "born that way".
They had to "Earn their REPROBATE MIND" by refusing God ~ not once, ~ not twice, ~ but THREE times!

You need to not only read, BUT STUDY this link
I especially agree with its last paragraph. There will be NO HOMOSEXUALS ( NOT ONE ) in the afterlife.
They WILL BE ASHES UNDER the soles of your feet ! ! !

TO TOLERATE HOMOSEXUALS IS EVIL.
This is what we get when we FAIL to OBEY God.
For it is written: Those who support homosexuals are against our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
These anti Christ people only bring destruction on us ALL.
I have NO sympathy for homosexuals!

Homosexuality is a "Mark" of disobedience.
Someone once asked The answer is in the definition of "REPROBATE". And the reason"why" is given in the Bible.

God has a cure for homosexuals.

"Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect
that God is just,
that his justice cannot sleep forever."

Oops, they filed a lawsuit against the Bishop - that was the wrong person - should have filed it against GOD as the originator.

I wonder when Target will stop selling Bibles as they contain “hate speech.”

Note that Leviticus 20:11 likewise indicates that a man who sleeps with his father’s wife must be put to death. But that’s not what happened to the man who committed incest with his father’s wife in 1 Corinthians 5. Just as Matthew 18:15-17 shows us that Jesus taught that a congregation is not to have anything to do with unrepentant sinners, Paul accordingly told the Corinthians church to expel the sexual offender from the congregation instead of killing him.

So thanks to Jesus' death and resurrection, New Testament churches evidently handle sexual offenders differently than the ancient Israelites were commanded to.

Handled differently, yes, but not considered no longer a sin one should repent of.

I agree. The NT clearly condemns same-sex sexual relationships in Romans 1:24-27 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. And 1 Corinthians 6:11 indicates that people who are struggling with same-sex temptations can repent and accept the grace of God to turn their lives around.

The bishop was just quoting God. They will need to go after the Creator, nail Him to a cross, I say!

They could even go after damages regarding Soddom!
