Statue of the Virgin Mary is Left Miraculously Intact After Fire
Aletelia ^ | August 24, 2015

Posted on 08/24/2015 3:38:40 PM PDT by NYer

The events took place at the El Goloso military base, located near the Spanish capital, seat of the nation's armored infantry brigade "Guadarrama." According to several Spanish news sites, including Infovaticana and Religión en Libertad, a fire broke out that was impossible to control, burning most of the surrounding vegetation.

Once the flames were extinguished, to the soldiers’ surprise, in the middle of the charred area, stood a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes—totally undamaged! What's more, the soldiers were shocked to see that the grass near the statue had not been touched by the flames and that it was even still surrounded by vases filled with flowers, also intact, as if the flames had respected the space around the statue.

The fire took place on July 30, in the middle of the heat wave which had descended upon Spain. The soldiers could not explain why the statue had suffered no damage nor why the flowers had not even been blackened or withered by the heat. The story quickly spread though social networks, some suspecting a fraud, but further investigations have dispelled all possible doubts. In the photographs, one can easily see that the ground is completely burnt, except near the statue.

Indeed, for the most part, the soldiers on the base did not know that there was a statue of the Virgin in their garden. However, some of them who had a special devotion to Mother Mary had recommended themselves to this representation of Our Lady of Lourdes. And, the statue had already participated in official ceremonies at the military base.

The local authorities’ investigation seems sufficient to clarify the natural aspects of the event. There are realities that human knowledge cannot understand but that faith explains. And human science and faith, working together, offer some explanation.

Still, this story reveals Our Lady’s special protection of this statue, however simple and unpretentious. And everyone can learn a lesson from this. Unexpected events may occur that set fire to a world full of threats and evils. In the near future, in the midst of disasters that we cannot even imagine, Our Lady—especially Our Lady of Lourdes–will go through them, fearless and untouched, with the symbols of the devotion of the faithful. And those who believe, even if they are a minority discredited by the atheist or unbelieving majority, will be recognized amid the tragedy as Heaven’s beloved children.

So you say.

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.(John 14:16-17 NASB)

If you think Mary can replace the Holy Spirit....good luck with that.

And I agree, the Protestant doctrines of Biblical sufficiency are non-biblical; hence, the multiplicity of Protestant factions as "every man does what's right in his own eyes."

Yeah...and every catholic service around the world, every Sunday school lesson, every article by Msgr Pope, every article on catholicanswers.com, etc, etc, is written from or cleared with the Vatican. LOL!

As was noted so often in the Word...."it is written..."

concrete statuary doesn’t burn.

Technically it does not "burn" but the component materials (Sand, gravel and Portland cement will decompose and melt at various temperatures creating a lava like viscous like substance, when it cools it will no longer have the properties of concrete.

You might want to check that with a few Messianic Jews.

I don’t think we get very far by saying that since Jesus breaks the religious rules of man, therefore we can get away with breaking the rules of God.

Don’t distort please. It isn’t “nuda scriptura” for one thing.

By all means. Elaborate, please.

She is the Blessed Mother. Scripture is correct about that.

Whoa there....no where does the Word say she is the Blessed Mother.

That's a made up catholic title not supported by the Word.

Google the term. Stop representing things that way.

Those of us who are His all have varying levels of shame. Good news is that He doesn’t hold that against us anymore.
I doubt we can even begin to articulate the grief, relief, or joy we will have when that moment arrives.

Christian Catholics do love the Lord.

What I see in that picture is simply a miracle of God.

There are at least two ways to be blessed; one is derivatively from a creator God, the other way is directly by nature.

This sounds a lot like trying to have one’s cake and eat it too.

those born from above NOW have THE King in their Spirit.

Then apparently that King has some trouble getting his edicts out....

The point is that it isn’t just instant glee for a believer.

Ceramic doesn’t catch fire.

At a higher enough temperature it will "melt" into a lava like viscous substance, after it cools it no longer resembles the original object.

We will stand (or kneel) at the Bema Seat of Christ our King, IN HEAVEN after the Rapture and before the marriage IN HEAVEN. And yes, Paul said some would have all their works burned up like wood, hay, and stubble, but the person will be saved as by fire (burning off the dross). Some will have their works refined, like Gold, Silver, and precious stones. But that is the Bema Seat IN HEAVEN. Catholics apparently want to avoid that and instead stand at the Great White Throne of Judgment, and take their chances that they have earned enough to be granted eternal life.

If you think Mary can replace the Holy Spirit....good luck with that.

"Replace" is your contrivance, not ours. The only reason I can think of for that sleigh-of-hand is to justify (at least in the mind of the one doing it) an aggressive posture.

IF you ever know The Lord, you will discover that He is the gentle, loving Savior of those with broken and contrite spirit. My King does not dictate to His family, He raises us up in the Way that we should go by the Holy Spirit presence He has placed in us. For illustrations of this phenomenon, see the Day of Pentecost when Peter preached Jesus tot he crowd, and the House of Cornelius when Peter preached the same message and folks were baptized by the Holy Spirit even before he finished his sermon!
