Huh? They went to John to be baptized by him, who then told them to believe on the One to come afterward, and then he baptized them again?
Seriously? You go digging through the archives for this stuff as a way around the plain teaching of the Scriptures?
See ya ‘round.
***who then told them to believe on the One to come afterward, and then he baptized them again?***
Not paying attention are you. John baptized them telling them to look for the one coming after him. Then he proclaimed JESUS as the one he told them about.
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
So why did PAUL have to rebaptize them? Again I don’t believe he did as I’ve shown.
Both Zondervan and Kreigel publishing houses have commentaries that say Paul did not rebaptize them.
But then, they are not Campbellite publishing houses.
