Dated, but a very good article about the Gospel, according to John MacArthur.

Poorly written article and the author did not prove his thesis.

No sale.

I praise the Lord for you scoffers. You have unwittingly given me the perfect opportunity to recommend two of John’s recent sermons.

I agree with MacArthur; Catholics are trapped in the works lie.

I don’t agree with MacArthur about every single verse, but he is better educated in God’s Word than any Catholic “priest” you will run into.

“Grace to You is built around one man.”

I suspect there is a succession plan in place.

“It may have many employees, but when John MacArthur dies, his ministry will die.”

I predict MacArthur will still be on the radio and his books in print long after the author of this article is dead and gone. J. Vernon, as an example, continues worldwide even today.

“His flock will scatter, taking with them the silly prejudices he has imbued them with. “

Hopefully, they’ve entrusted themselves to Christ alone and will all be heaven bound.

I listen to at least one of MacArthur’S sermons daily to hear the Gospel truth as he goes through it one verse at a time...his We Will Not Bow sermon was so good, I ordered a copy for my Pastor...say what you will about MacArthur, but he confirms that my decision to leave the Catholic church after 64 years, was the absolute right thing for me to do...

John MacArthur's congregation, Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. He runs a ministry called Grace to You. Its motto is "Unleashing God's Truth One Verse at a Time." The unleashing is done chiefly through a widely-syndicated radio program.
Fantastic, what a great ministry to get the Word out. Jesus is the Word.

MacArthur goes on to write about the "damning error" that is Catholicism and notes that he has released a new 90-minute lecture called "Unmasking the Pope and the Catholic System." He says that "the church I pastor is loaded with people who were saved out of the Catholic church. … A longtime Grace to You board member and dear friend of mine is a former Catholic. He speaks with great emotion about the bondage he and his wife lived under."
Wow, what a great eyewitness account. Jesus came to set us free, what a great example.

Influential leaders embraced the deceased pope as a brother in Christ and the Catholic church as just another Christian denomination. …

"During the Reformation, countless men and women died rather than deny the biblical truths of salvation.

Countless others today are giving their lives as missionaries to people lost in the darkness and guilt of Catholicism."

Awesome, reaching out to the Lost is a Biblical principle.

Thank goodness Catholicism quit persecuting Christians for printing and reading Bibles.

How bizarre those things were forbidden by the Catholic denomination.

Grace to You is built around one man.
Yes, the Man, Jesus Christ.

Conversely, Catholicism is built around the pope, and every creature must be in subjection to him.

Of course, Christians are in subjection to Jesus.

Grace to You is built around one man. It may have many employees, but when John MacArthur dies, his ministry will die. His flock will scatter, taking with them the silly prejudices he has imbued them with.

Actually, the evidence is that such usually continue.

When Benedict XVI dies there will be another pope to succeed him, and another, and another, until the end of time. Each of them will demonstrate to those with open minds and hearts that, yes, the pope does teach the gospel.

Yikes! The gospel Francis is preaching, such as seen in his last verbose encyclical, is that of seeking salvation from climate change, and poverty by income redistribution, etc.

In an interview with Portugal-based Radio Renascença aired yesterday, Pope Francis declared that the current refugee crisis in Europe is being caused by a “bad, unjust” socio-economic system that worships “the god of money.”

In the interview, where questions were posed in Portuguese and the responses were given by Pope Francis in Spanish, the pontiff said coveting money will bring about both human and ecological ruin:

This is the tip of the iceberg. We see these refugees, these poor people who are escaping from war, escaping from hunger, but that’s the tip of the iceberg. But underlying that is the cause, and the cause is a socio-economic system that is bad, unjust, because within an economic system, within everything, within the world, speaking of the ecological problem, within the socio-economic society, in politics, the person always has to be the center. And today’s dominant economic system has removed the person from the center, and at the center is the god of money. It’s the fashionable god today. I mean, there are statistics. I don’t remember very well, but — this is not exact and I could be making a mistake— 17% of the population has 80% of the wealth.”

Pope Francis said that refugees from rural areas are being “deforested” and driven into big cities:

“Why are ‘favelas’ (shantytowns) formed in big cities?” It’s the people who come from the country because they have been deforested. They have made a mono-cultivation. They have no work, and they go to big cities.”

Ultimately, the world “is at war against itself, the Pope declared:

“Today, the world is at war, is at war against itself. That is, the world is at war -- as I say -- a war in parts, piecemeal. But it is also at war against the earth, because it’s destroying the earth, that is, our common home. The environment, the glaciers are melting. In the Arctic, the polar bear goes increasingly northward to survive." - http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/full-text-of-pope-francis-interview-with-portuguese-radio-station-44460/

the Gospel, according to John MacArthur.

The Gospel according to MacArthur is also the Gospel according to the word of God.IMO he is the most biblically correct bible expositor since the passing of the late lamented English author, scholar, and professor at both Oxford and Cambridge C.S. Lewis.

Nothing in divinely inspired Holy Writ establishes a Papist religion such as the Roman Church, nor does it give any mere man authority to grant salvation to penitent sinners. Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone was the watchword of the European reformers Luther, Calvin, Knox, et al, and is MacArthur's as well. Love him or hate him, he preaches the gospel of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection for the salvation of all who believe in Him and that's what counts as far as I'm concerned.

Meanwhile, any article telling of a Catholic who converts to Protestantism is greeted with threats of banning (by Catholic cry-babies who don't have the authority to ban anybody but who seem to think they do).

Is this a catholic caucus thread? If it is not, then it is okay to point out bold-faced lies, right? Like this one: “... the pope really does teach the gospel–and that John MacArthur does not.”
