Is the World Coming to an End?

Yes.

In about 800 million years the sun will have heated enough to evaporate the oceans.

And even if we as a civilization come up with a mitigation strategy (we do have a long time to act), sometime in the next 5 billion years the sun will go red giant and swallow up the earth.

I guess we could, by that time, move the earth to an orbit farther from the sun, so I guess it’s possible the answer is Not Necessarily.

Not really all that complicated really. Nudge a series of asteroids into the correct orbits for tiny gravitational nudges and move the earth outward a few inches or feet per year.

I'll get started on it as soon as the grant money comes in.

I'm not quite sure that the originator of this thread had that kind of response in mind, but: Well played, sir!

Most scientists say we have about 3.5 billion years before the sun enters its red giant stage. Funny, most scientists also say the solar system is about 3.5 billion years old.

When you study Bible prophecies, you see patterns over and over. One pattern is this recurring 3 1/2 year/unit thing. You have a 3 1/2 year period, an occurrence or event of some kind, and then another 3 1/2 period before some really climatic event.

The 3 1/2 unit is a division of 7. The number 7 and its multiples or divisions are seen throughout the scriptures. Fascinating!

Science says the sun is getting smaller...Might want to stock up on firewood and flashlight batteries...
