Francis told them that ‘the sense of faith impedes the rigid separation between the Teaching Church and the Learning Church, because the flock possesses its own “sense” to discern the new roads that the Lord reveals to the church…’ Meaning?

Meaning that the Church will take up a position of "going with the flow" and letting whatever the current zeitgeist of the moment decide what their position is on faith and morals. Everyone loves same sex marriage? The church should learn from the flock, it's now okay! Whatever they say goes!

And the church dies because nobody puts up with spending an hour every week and giving up 10% (or whatever) of their income to have some pastor take a poll of the congregation and tell them the result is now church doctrine. When the church stops claiming it has universal bedrock truths, what's the point?

Saint Malachy laid out a prophecy of all the future Popes and per his timeline he predicted that this pope, who he referred to as "Peter the Roman", would be the last. Perhaps he got it right. Heck, Francis emphasizing his title of "Bishop of Rome" even lines up.

I grew up in the Episcopal Church of the 60s and 70s, so we sang real church music. I go to coffeehouses to listen to folk music.
