And yet the Catholic Popes and others in authority murdered millions of protestants for believing in the Bible as the final authority.

See the Huguenots.

Oh, those poor Huguenots. The common conception of Huguenots as peaceful potters and artisans just trying to make their way in world filled with mean Catholics is laughable malarkey. The Huguenots weren't just a religious movement, they were a political movement (frequently supported by various nobles for political purposes), and once they took over and fortified a town, things didn't tend to go well for Catholics residing within. When you have a group of people squatting in dozens of fortified towns, fielding their own army within France, hounding Catholics and burning Catholic churches where ever they could (and frequently killing clergy), what kind of reaction do you think everyone else in France should have had? The Saint Bartholomew's Day Massacre wasn't a start, it was a reaction.

“And yet the Catholic Popes and others in authority murdered millions of protestants for believing in the Bible as the final authority.”

Nope. First, the only time “millions” of Protestants died was in the Thirty Years War - when millions of Catholics died at the hands of Protestants too. There were no “millions” killed by any pope or any collection of popes. Also, no Catholic “in authority” killed “millions” of Protestants except in open warfare - when millions of Catholics were killed as well. By the way, many Protestants killed Protestants.

“See the Huguenots.”

I already know all about the Huguenots. They killed and were killed. And many survived to this day. So?

Would you like to iterate a few lines regarding Roman abuse of Huguenots?
