You might want to look into that. Most believe John, writing from the island of Patmos, wrote Revelation very early. You can clearly see the other writers of the New Testament using John’s words in their letters.
This was a revelation to me (pun intended) because in my mind John was in his later years, but in fact, based on whom was in positions of power, John wrote Revelation very early.
As a side note, if you don’t already know, Isaac Newton wrote extensively about the Bible. He was a devout Bible reader. You can read his works here: http://www.newtonproject.sussex.ac.uk/prism.php?id=1. There are actually two groups working to get his papers online.
Read the history of how Newton’s papers came to light. It is, to me, fascinating considering not all Newton’s papers were available until after 1939 when Maynard Keynes (yes, that Keynes) and Abraham Yahuda obtained them at auction. Yahuda’s papers were donated to Israel for their library.

Yep, via satellite, and it is to be such a big deal, since these two “tormented them that dwelt on the earth”. For three days the people on earth “shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and send gifts one to another”.
I think if a couple of guys had showed up back then, that were able to have fire proceed out of their mouths which devoured their enemies, and stop the rain, and turn bodies of water into blood, and smite the earth with all plagues as often as needed,......there would be much, much more historical proof, compared to the ‘localized’ damage God did to Egypt to free the Israelites.
