Eucharistic Congress Speaker Claims Catholics Too Focused on What Homosexuals are 'Doing in Bed'

PHILIPPINES January 28, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) -- A Dominican priest and recent Vatican appointee who believes homosexual activity can "be expressive of Christ’s self gift" has criticized Catholics who, he says, spend too much time focusing on what homosexuals are "doing in bed."

I think people always want to know what they're doing in bed. What's in it for me to go around asking everybody what they're doing in bed? I don't do that," said Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe in an interview yesterday with Philippines social news network Rappler. Fr. Radcliffe, who was in the Philippines as a guest speaker at the 51st International Eucharistic Congress, was responding to an interview question about what he finds most disappointing in the way Catholics treat homosexuals.

The British author, speaker, and former Master of the Dominican order from 1992 to 2001 was appointed last year by Pope Francis as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. The decision came despite Fr. Radcliffe's longstanding opposition to the Church's view of sexuality.

In 2005, as the Vatican deliberated the admission of men with homosexual tendencies to study for the priesthood in the wake of the Church sex abuse scandal, Fr. Radcliffe said that homosexuality should not bar men from the priesthood, but rather, those who oppose it should be banned.

He has it exactly backwards. Homosexuals are constantly in our face demanding, with menaces, that we approve of what they do in bed. Anything less than unrestrained enthusiasm for their lifestyle is branded a "hate crime".

Sigh. At a Eucharistic Congress, no less. Rumor has it that Abp Tagle, the only raving liberal among the Filipino bishops, is Francis’ choice to succeed him as pope.

Agree. I don’t spend my time thinking much about what anyone does in their bedroom no matter what their inclination. I have my belief system, but first and foremost I believe in the freewill that God gave to all of us. Believe or don’t believe.

With that said, the conflict for me arises with the indoctrination of my children. That is my responsibility - and I find it unacceptable to send my children to an indoctrination center and it’s found throughout “education”, media, and most recently in the laws of our nation.

No hate in my heart, but this has become an issue of freedom. I should be free to raise my children with the same morals my parents handed down to me through the Word. I will never teach them to hate and the other side should never have the right to teach them what is “good” when so much evidence (and history) exists to the contrary.

Wonder if he shouldn't have used 'we're' instead of 'they're'.

In the church structure, how does he not get shut up? Or even excommunicated? Same for pro abort politicians who go to huge lengths to advance it.

Is anyone in this day and age excommunicated? Or is it an artifact from hundreds of years ago that doesn’t happen anymore?

Homos are too busy trying to force others into being participants in their behavior.
They were better off being in their closets.

As I have said before, there isn’t much about the post Vatican II church that even resembles that which was pre-Vatican II.

The Modern Church has done a really good job of making that happen.

So catholics are the ones forcing this into schools, pride parades, every tv show, movies and being heavily promoted by the government? How so?

We know THEY are the ones obsessed with it. LIES and blaming others for what they do seems to be their favorite tactic. If they weren’t doing all of these things constantly, we wouldn’t even need to discuss it.

It is precisely what they do in bed that makes them homosexual. But of course the big lie is that they confine their love to their partners. The priest scandals tell us that they prefer boys to men, but will sleep with anything that breathes or even with inanimate objects. Their sexual tastes are in fact quite Turkish, which is why they are so little worried about Muslims.
