My understanding is that Catholics ask these Godly people to pray for us to the Lord our god. You don't pray TO the saint. But then, the dead know nothing and will remain that way until the resurrection. Maybe they'll intercede then.
the Lord our God.
Typo lower case.
“You don’t pray TO the saint.”
Well, we sort of do but only because the Saint is closer to God than we are and can pass along the message.
They'd better be quick about it then...
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Sadly, Roman Catholics do pray TO these people.
I believe the dead in Christ are alive with Him, now. They know now what we only thought we might know, someday. They know the living Christ, Son of God and Friend, the Friend who loves them. Their Lord, their Jesus, their Savior, their Friend.
He said to the thief on the cross beside him, 'Today you will be with me in Paradise.'
A friend of mine died this week. No, he didn't die, he passed on...from all the frailties that the human condition can bestow, to an eternal presence with his Savior, Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. Yesterday, my comment to his wife, 'Tom is now in a better place'.
