A churchgoer shot a fellow parishioner in a Pennsylvania church after a fight broke out over a seat in the sanctuary on Sunday, authorities say.
The argument started when a churchgoer told Robert Braxton III, 27, he was sitting in seats reserved for two other church members during Sunday service at the Keystone Fellowship Church, district attorney Kevin Steele said.

Saying you’re non denominational is like refusing to make a choice. in refusing to make a choice, you have STILL made a choice. Despite saying you are nondenominational you have still created a church. Denominational means what the churches name is. Even if they were to be called “The Church With No Name” then THAT would be their name! You could go further and say they’re non denominational because they espouse no specific theology or creed that woud define them. But, in my experience Nondenominational churches DO espouse specific theologies or creeds. All in all it’s just more fragmenting of Christ’s church.

Also, by the definition you present below, the Catholic church is a denomination, as that is the name of the church.

They’re saluting God in worship. The purpose is to make God real enough in their lives so that when they go home they’ll talk to God rather than to themselves.
Christians and Jews generally think its better to pray to God than to talk to yourself.

When the story first broke I looked up the church. Their website did have the "generic protestant megachurch" vibe to it.
In Colonial America it was customary to pile the guns in the center aisle in the event they were needed during the service. The men sat along the aisle so they could easily grab a weapon to defend the women and children. I’ve even read some towns would fine a man who did not arrive at church armed. He was viewed as shirking his God-given duty.
I don’t know if our people are saved, but their seats are...
In the old west it was customary to leave your guns outside of a church before entering. Guess that rule no longer applies.

Stories I've seen on the incident say the quarrel was over a seat, and that the shooter had a "concealed weapons carrier" badge. Both of these, but especially the latter, mark him off as an absolute goober.
Makes me wonder how this church kept this out of the media almost a week.
They didn't. I saw it a few days ago.
