The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. (Psalm 9:14-15)

The ninth Psalm is an eschatological revelation. The Psalmist ,by the Holy Spirit celebrates the coming of the LORD . At his Arrival, the united international enemies of Israel fall, they are turned back and routed! They had besieged her in their fury, but God rebukes them,”putting out their name” forever!

The LORD comes to make “Inquisition for blood” , He will take accountability of the nations. Innocent blood has been spilled; millions of babies have been slaughtered, the Jews have been viciously hated and persecuted, millions of Christians have been hounded,harassed nd even murdered, now the nations(Heathen) must be made to give an answer to the Righteous Judge of ll of the earth.

The “Heathen”, ie the nations, have dug a pit, a trap has been set by them to victimize God’s people, but they themselves are slated to fall into the trap, to their own destruction. Psalm 7 also prophesies this of the Anti-Christ;

Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.(Psalm 7:14-15)

Those who hate God, whose Kings and rulers have “taken counsel together against the LORD and His anointed” are also conspiring against God’s saints, Israel, and the church. But the pit they are digging shall be their undoing.

Like Haman, they will hang on the very gallows they have constructed for Mordechai, and all of the earth will know of it. There are traps being set in the halls of the United Nations, to strip Israel of the her right to self-determination, and to give an edge to the Muslim world which hates her and is committed to her destruction.

Psalm 83 a desperate prayer for deliverance for Israel from her many besieging enemies, also mentions the “crafty counsel” being taken to destroy the name of Israel.

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:(Psalm 83:1-5)

A snare is being set for them, inadvertently by them, which shall be the means of Divine judgment on them. They shall ultimately be “hoisted by their own petard” as the saying goes.

Traps are also being set in motion for Christians, such as when in the book of Daniel chapter six, laws were being crafted as a web, to be used against those who like Daniel fear God more than they fear the State. Currently Hillary Clinton and the US state department are working to enact U.N. legislation that would enforce “tolerance” of all religions, banning “insulting language or depictions” of any religion.

This will work to the advantage of Islam, (ironically the least tolerant of any religion), outlawing truth-telling, any attempts at conversion, and criticism of the Koran, Mohammed, and Islam generally.No wonder our Lord Jesus told us to work while it is light, for night comes, when no man can work. Maranatha!

They shall ultimately be “hoisted by their own petard” as the saying goes.

This saying is of much later origin, as it means being blown UP ( hoisted ) by your own bomb. A petard was a chest of explosives, used to breach walls and fortifications in a siege.

... I see that the phrase itself is from Shakespeare - For tis the sport to haue the enginer Hoist with his owne petar ("Hamlet" III.iv.207).

For 'tis the sport to have the engineer Hoist with his own petard: and 't shall go hard But I will delve one yard below their mines, And blow them at the moon:...

This is in reference to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern's trip to England.

I realize his, I am not saying that the saying is in the Psalms, I just think it fits to the coming situation
