Even though the land and church building may have been paid for by great-grandparents of the current members, the current members must “purchase” the facility from the Presbytery at a price set by the Presbytery. If you need to buy a building either way, go elsewhere, wait for them to decide to sell. See what the market will bear. Make a very low offer.

Yeah... let them be spiteful if they want, it will blow up in their faces. In the meantime, other churches can often make arrangements to share with new indies.
