GOD forbid!
I dont mean to be TOO critical, but for some reason, it just bugs the hell out of me that the glorious St Paul Cathedral is going to become an arena for full contact wailing and “attitude”...because now the funeral is not about the poor darling with a mile long police record, it is all about showing the family wailing for the cameras—and you all KNOW I am right on this! It will be Emmy nomination worthy!

I know a true king and a martyr. His name is not Philando. But he died for Philando.

WOAH baby, that is gonna be one helluva spectacle of weeping, wailing, screeching and fainting!!Yup...I attended a funeral of one of my black employees years ago when his wife died....
It truly was a spectacle...
Middle of August in Liberty City, Miami. No AC at all, sweating bullets.
I could barely hear the Pastor over the guy next to me wailing so loud it was actually a little scary...
I'm not denigrating them, but it sure was way different than your typical WASP funeral...
That's for sure...

I think I’ll be washing my hair that day, so I’ll miss the Wellstone Memorial circus.

Likely more of the social justice BS that has infiltrated the Catholic Church.
Sad.

My son is a king, and he is also a martyr, so I thought that was the best place for his services, she said.Wow.
When does the family start selling t-shirts?My son is a king, and he is also a martyr, so I thought that was the best place for his services, she said.
Seriously, if I lost my son, the last thing I would want is to be out in public talking to the media, making a big fuss. I would probably be curled up on the couch or my rocking chair, unable to talk or breathe.

Will all his fellow gang members be there?

Archbishop Bernard Hebda. He is consenting to a non-Catholic funeral in the beautiful church. Perhaps his goals it to be politically correct.

Is there any actual evidence (other than a silly Facebook group) that he was a crip? Good grief Donny Jimmy, the guy self identified himself a "crip" by joining the fb group. What more do you want, the name of the guy he off'ed for his initiation?

I can handle the delusional ‘king’ thing from momma, but ‘martyr’??? that’s a bit melodramatic

Philandos mother, Valerie Castile, requested to hold the service at the Cathedral because she wished the funeral to be an ecumenical opportunity for people to come together in a new way and pray for peace and reconciliation, according to a July 12 statement from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. And the new ecumenical religion of course obliged.
