This issue has broader implications than just Catholicism and I appreciate these threads and think they should be in Politics/Current events.

If this goes ahead, it will clearly show how much Francis values the incalculable sufferings of the many bishops, priests and faithful who have heroically resisted the government's efforts to control Catholicism and remained faithful to the underground Church, despite imprisonment, hard labor and various other forms of persecution.
Francis will be telling them loud and clear that, in his opinion, it was all for nothing and that they were fools who suffered needlessly.
