Wow. A much more delineated answer than anticipated.

Turning it around, my witness would be similar to this...

That a sinner change his mind and turn away from his sinning, seeking forgiveness from God, encountering the Lord Jesus Christ dying on His cross paying the sinner’s debt to God in full once for all and for all time, following in the Way of Lord Jesus Christ, believing that Jesus had RISEN FROM THE DEAD AND LATER ASCENDED TO THE FATHER IN HEAVEN AND IS NOW SEATED ON THE RIGHT HAND OF ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN and that the born-again believer in Lord Jesus Christ (believing everything written about Him in the Bible is true), is now included in the body of believers Jesus called His church, IS ALIVE WITH JESUS AND WILL BE FOREVERMORE...and just by faith in Jesus Christ: the Way, the Truth, the Life...completely reconciling fallen man to Almighty God the Father. The ONLY Way to be saved from what’s coming over the entire earth and from the second death...believing in Jesus alone instead of ourselves or any idols. (He’s promised He will appear again and every eye will behold Him.)

Or something like that. Comes out a little differently each time but the message is the same:

The Father is well-pleased with His Son. His Son has paved the Way for me — for everyone who believes in Him. I accept His greater love and return my life to Him (my reasonable service) and abide in Him walking by faith daily in the Spirit, pleasing the Father in Heaven because of Who Jesus is and because I am accepted by Him in Christ.

There I go again.

And the lost sinners who appear at the great white throne, are not there to determine if they are going to Heaven or Hell.

Revelation 20:11-15
"Then I saw a great White Throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED. Another book was opened WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE. The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to their works.  Then death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. The Lake of Fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

Revelation 21:27
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

If I weigh in the balance ...

Catholic salvation and
Protestant salvation

(just to keep it simple)

Doing what the protestants say will get me to heaven, and
Doing what the Catholics say won't (or will, but you gott'a ALSO ... (whatever) .. )

The Protestant's salvation is acceptable to the Catholic ... I can hang with them and except for some ritual stuff ... we're on the same page.

but

Catholic people can't or won't hang with US because ... we just don't do things their way.

Now, unless the Catholic can be saved by grace through faith .. alone ... they can't (Even though their own Douay Rheims bible says they can) go to heaven.

Why would I give up a guarantee for a maybe ?

Magr. Charles Pope needs to concern himself with how he and his assigned flock(s) of RC’s are going to stand before God and be judged, rather than surmising in those matters (i.e. the judgment of non-Catholic Christians) that he clearly doesn’t understand or accept as yet.

I don't know bro. I sure wouldn't give up a 100% guarantee of Heaven, for a 1% guarantee of Heaven. At the risk of committing the sin of presumption, I will take the 100% guarantee. I think you will too. 😀😆😄

As with other Catholics.

If I were still Catholic, I'd be REALLY focused on doing what I could to assure my place in heaven, working day and night to try to be acceptable to God.

But I'm not. I'm saved by grace and the gift He gives everyone who comes to Him in simple trust.

Unless of course, people think they're going to get purgatory points for posting lots of threads and replies to their won threads.

Discerning the body of Christ is to comprehend it is a spiritual body. If you do not discern properly, and Catholics do not, then you are guilty of the carnal meaning and trying to drink His blood and eat HIS flesh. Both were forbidden by GOD even before the Law of Moses was penned by the finger of God. Thye pagans in Rome tried to eat their pagan idols and drink their idol blood. Catholiciism has adopted the ritual in a carnal way, blaspheming the Body of Christ.

Yes, make sure your name is written in the book of life. Is your name there? I know mine is.

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

o, who are these citizens who hated Him and would not allow the Nobleman to reign over them from a distance? His enemies are those that did not believe Him and, instead, wrote their own rules negating that which He instructed them to be doing in His absence.

Don't skip this last sentence because everything Jesus said that you quoted leads up to this final sentence of His. It's important to differentiate between the judgment of the Nobleman's stewards who still abide with various degrees of rewards...and the banishment of His enemies by their death which He witnessed.

See Revelation below.

You make my point regarding the servants in Luke. Compare the same parable in Matthew that I just listed from Luke in post 894. The punishment of some servants is severe while others vary in degree, and yet they are all servants.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Thanks for the effort to participate, but...no; this isn't the way to perform understandable Bible citations. But you've been told that many times before.

It is usually somewhat of a mystery why you quote random Scripture verses in response to non-Catholic Christians' statements on FR without giving the readers a hint of an idea why or what point(s) you wish to make. But you've been told that many times before.

Yet, as a registered FReeper in good standing, it is your right, as it is mine, to post practically anything whatever whenever, whether beneficial to anyone or not.

Still, cannot you locate a darker blue font for your random Scripture postings as requested many times by your fellow FReepers?

(A million wrongs don't make a Catholic right.)

I, for one non-Catholic non-Lutheran Christian, take the Lord's Supper as infinitely more significant than just grabbing a bite to eat and some juice to drink. Scripture admonishes me never to become too casual about such matters or to go it alone by myself. Some FR posters have taken the Lord's Supper to un-Scriptural extremes due to ignoring their Head and what He has plainly told His followers/believers, the body of Christ.

I also respect the observance of the Lord's Supper so MUCH more as an Evangelical than I did when I was a Catholic. Those "extremists" who ignore the true message of the ritual err additionally when they presume that they ALONE are "correctly" observing the ordinance. This observance instituted by Jesus, Himself, was given to all believers for a memorial of His sacrifice for us all so that we not only stay reminded and thankful for what He has done for us but so that we never forget that we are all members of His one body, His spiritual house of which each one is a living stone.

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:20-22)

Since you said nothing, I had to quote myself again. I don't know if your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life or not, but if not, you need to get it together. You don't want to be in the middle of the Great White Throne, getting your death sentence. You want to be on the side, when the men of Ninevah and the Queen of Sheba rise in judgment and condemn them. So, if your name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, then do something about it bro.

I apologize to you for all my unkind and finicky statements to you and about your posting practices in my posts 916 and 917. What and how you post is nobody’s business but yours and the site operator’s, not mine.

I’m asking for your forgiveness for all the inconsiderate and off-base remarks I made to you in those two posts.

I was wrong and will curb this kind of behavior on FR and elsewhere in the future.
