it’s easy to jump all over everybody else’s sin (there’s so jolly much of it)
it’s not quite so easy to inspire everybody else to better righteousness... part of the reason being that one has to make a sincere effort to embrace it oneself, in order to succeed in that.
whats more, when you try to inspire people to better righteousness, even if sincerely, you sound like you’re advising people to do stupid things. whaddya mean don’t punch that cad right back in the nose? didn’t your pop teach you to do that or get whupped at home by him too?
