“The dispersing of ashes has been prohibited ever since the ban on cremation was lifted.”

The Church didn’t do a very good job conveying that information. At a minimum, one would think that the priest who’s been called upon to celebrate the funeral Mass would remind the family ASAP of that prohibition.

You’re also VERY redundant!

Thanks!

Another point to ponder: you can't be buried face down (so everyone can kiss your a$$) if you're cremated.

Actually, I don’t believe that.

I was reacting to your pompous, hostile tone.

BTW: Normal people call Jesus Jesus.

1) I am not normal. I am Jewish.

2) Israel in that Judaism gave Christianity to the world.

3) No, we did not kill Yeshua (His real name/pronunciation) The Romans did.

3) Did someone starch your underwear? Where do you get off saying I had a hostile tone (which is what this is as an example)

4) There is nothing in Scripture that says the Trinity inhabits a dead body.

The Vatican also stressed that "the Church continues to prefer the practice of burying the bodies of the deceased, because this shows a greater esteem towards the deceased".

Full disclosure...
Lifelong Catholic; altar boy; Jesuit-educated.

After decades of scandals that need not be repeated here, my faith and reliance on the Vatican is seriously impaired.

I prefer to view my God as omnipotent, and will grant me eternal life, whether I am burned alive by koranimals, or choose to be cremated.

My faith is stronger than ever!

My daddy rides with me in my truck’s glove box.

I wasn't aware that they made truck glove boxes that big.
The ashes of the dearest human of my entire life are in a small, modest wooden box that wouldn't fit in any glove box I've ever seen.

So, ok, not all of him is in there.
The majority was dispersed on the site of
the log cabin where he was born.
I’ve still got enough to talk to when I go deer
hunting. Maybe it’s only his left foot, but that’s
fine.

I don’t like it myself, the obliteration of the body, by fire, is not good symbolism, not good at all.

I can understand your confusion.
In spite of the fact that the Holy Ghost in thousands of historic Sacred Christian texts is represented as a flame...

I prefer cremation to interment in the earth and either rather than sitting through the late HR training meeting I have to go into today.

I can totally understand that.
I will, one day, scatter my dear one's ashes off the Pacific coast beach where we spent our last outing together as a family before she returned to university.

It's only been 23 years, but I'm still not at peace doing it.

If I feel it’s time and I’m still mobile at 120 or so, I’ll try to crawl back in an old high desert mine adit or cave with a sack of treasure and my 1858 New Army Remington’s and dry out there. Sometime later some treasure hunter would score :-).

I like the tree idea too. I’m definitely NOT up for being incinerated.

Dude, you need to have a willing accomplice put one of those quarter sized insanity formenting chips in the roof of your mouth so when the students break the skin something like a faint “Ahhhh.... It Huuuurrrtttsss” issues from you! ARF!

I told Mrs. Chandler to just roll me into a Hefty bag and toss me in the dumpster. She seemed to like the idea until she considered my life insurance.

I’m actually considering doing that at someplace like an acre or two on my Nevada property. Most likely will never be disturbed and spectacular view for any visitors...

Johnny Carson said they could put his body in a trash bag
and leave him at the curb for all he cared.

On a tangent, Woody Allen said he wasn’t afraid to die,
he just didn’t want to be there when it happened.
