For 1,960 + years cremation was forbidden by the Catholic Church. Period.

Me too yet I can’t decide which is worse. I’ll let my family make those decisions.

There is a whole procedure for burial at sea, reserved for honorably discharged and retired Marines and sailors.

As for family, my wife is in total agreement. Children can visit while I’m alive.

I didn’t say the H.S. does “inhabit” a dead body. But one of the effects of Baptism is the indwelling of the H.S. Indeed, the Trinity. Thus, the body of a baptized person, even after death, deserves a great deal more respect than an old coat or other object.

You wrote that the Trinity inhabits the body even after death. I basically asked what’s the point. The soul and spirit of the person is gone. Then too, why give all this respect to a dead person when in many cases they never got that respect in life?

Wouldn’t the ash tray be more appropriate?

I never said the Trinity inhabits the body after death.

I gave some of the reasons for treating the body with respect. Take it or leave it.
