The American Sadducees - Haters of Jesus Christ

In Jesus’ day, there were two main political parties which ran Israel under Rome's oppressive reign. One was the Sadducee party and the other the Pharisee party. Both groups claimed to represent the Law of Moses and have the best interests of the people of Israel in mind. These two parties had opposing political and religious views and were at the opposite ends of the religious and political spectrum. In all honesty they both had little power under Rome’s iron hand, but that never stopped these two parties from trying to gain - the gentile occupied population of Israel’s – favor and popularity. However, there was one event that would unanimously unite these two polar opposites. Their common bond was the rejection of Almighty God's Messiah and RIGHTEOUSNESS (Matt 3:7,16:6, 27:20, Mark 3:6, 11:18,14:53-56).

The Sadducee's Party was the progressive liberal party of that day (as it were). This group held the chief position of power by controlling the office of chief priests and the High Priest’s office (Acts 4:1-3, 5:17). The Sadducee's are identified - in the Holy Scriptures - by their ideological position of fully rejecting the prophetic prophesy of the Old Testament and the resurrection of the dead (Mark 12:18, Acts 23:8). The Sadducee's also rejected the existence of Almighty God’s higher intelligences (i.e., angelic hosts) and were greatly opposed to the Pharisees, which held a more fundamental adherence to the Law and the resurrection (Acts 23:6-8). When it came to these fundamental issues these two parties were polar opposites.

I don’t think the Sadducee rejected Moses but only the prophets and the writings. That is why when Jesus rebuked them he only quoted from Moses. “Mar 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mar 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.” pointing out the hint of the resurrection is in the books of Moses too.

The idea that Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph, now by the Grace of his followers “of the House of David” was not the central and most important figure in this place at this well-documented time, is a notion that has become fiction.

They had their own “Moses” as many have their own “Paul”, “Peter” etc... We can do the same with liberal Christians today too but it won’t make any difference because they do not want to know the true God of the Scriptures.. I do it all the time here in CT
