Since it is recognized that it is extremely rare to find men entirely devoid of the religious sense, some people entertain the hope that nations [...] in spite of their differing religious viewpoints, may be brought to unite as brothers in the profession of certain doctrines as a common foundation of the spiritual life. [...] Certainly efforts such as these cannot receive the approbation of Catholics, for they rest on that false opinion which holds any opinion whatever to be more-or-less praiseworthy and good. [...] Those who hold this opinion are not only in gross error, they even debase the concept of true religion and, little by little, lapse into Naturalism and Atheism. [...] He who refuses to have the Church for his Mother will not have God for his Father. When St. Augustine speaks of man's last end, he hastens to add this counsel to any one who wishes to reach that end: "Their attempt will be useless if they do not submit to the Catholic Church, and humbly obey her, for she alone has been divinely instituted to give light and strength to souls, without which they will necessarily stray from the right path." Would to God they had listened to the voice of Augustine in the past! And would to God that everyone might hear him today who rends the seamless robe of Christ. and casts himself miserably outside the path of salvation. Pope Pius XI

What is your objective in posting this? The Church’s official teaching is contained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, not on an apologetics web site.
Which catechism are you talking about?
It’s certainly not the Catechism of Trent.
Sooner, rather than later! The Revelation 12:1-2 Great Sign in the Heavens shows up September 23-24, 2017! Look up! Your redemption draws near!
Pastor Steve Cioccolanti has an interesting update on 2016 as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnDzFX_8uyw
Really? For people in the US I'm talking about The Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition, Revised in accordance with the official Latin text promulgated by Pope John Paul II.
“Which catechism are you talking about?”
trad_anglican told you EXACTLY what catechism in his post.
I’m guessing the author doesn’t consider Vatican II as part of the “constant teaching” of the Church?
As long as it is not “kill the infidel” I don’t care.
No man knows the day or hour
Cioccolanti appears to be a nut:

I reject that catechism. I only accept Catholic catechisms.
However, if you two think you worship the “god” of muslims, go for it.
I never really knew some Catholics are like some are till Free Republic
Why don’t y’all direct your fire at lapsed Catholics instead
In my opinion that is a majority in the US
I don’t know about the author, but I don’t consider Vatican II to be part of the “constant teaching” of the Catholic Church.
They’re both the same: protestants and lapsed Catholics.
Only to those who don’t read the Bible.
“I reject that catechism. I only accept Catholic catechisms.”
See, trad_anglican? ebb tide is a faux traddy, a cafeteria Catholic. He really isn’t Catholic, really isn’t a faithful Catholic, and repeatedly shows he doesn’t understand Catholic teachings. I have demonstrated this many times on FR in the past.
“However, if you two think you worship the god of muslims, go for it.”
And this is ebb tide’s constant tactic. When he knows he cannot actually deal with the issue at hand he throws in a kitchen sink in an apparent desperate bid to divert attention away from his own failure. This is all he can do.
Yes. Note that this is a two day period and we can’t be sure to what event it is tied. Do you want to be without oil when the bridegroom comes?
I own the Catechism of Trent and all of the Baltimore Catechisms. They are contradictory to JP II’s catechism. Check it out.
I don’t need some false prophet to lecture me....my salvation is assured by the grave of a loving God
