Dare I say that President-Elect Trump just might be a bit more humble than the Jesuit from Argentina? Catholic ping!

most in the Vatican were backing Hillary Clinton as the lesser evil. Aren't Catholics into degrees of sin? How is abortion not as bad as deporting illegals?

Trump, on the other hand, was considered unelectable

threats to deport 11 million illegal Mexican immigrants
I hope the 'threats to deport' is for all illegal aliens and not just a large subset.
To: Gamecock
This is one Catholic that went all in for Trump
This Pope was elected to lead the flock in the wrong direction.

Well, that’s OK, I view the Vatican as communist and anti-Catholic.

most in the Vatican were backing Hillary Clinton I don't understand how the Vatican can be backing a woman who believes in abortion, even partial birth abortion.
Somebody explain to me how that happens?

The gay mafia still rules the Vatican.

The Vatican is a political organization that operates not unlike Washington, D.C. Prone to the same turf battles and bias and corruption.
Except that it has been doing so for about 1500 years longer.
And there does not appear to be anybody to drain the swamp.
To: NYer
If donations from conservative American Catholics to the Vatican begin to decline, a papal visit to the US with many smiling photo ops at the White House will occur in early 2018.

"in addition to his threats to deport 11 million illegal Mexican immigrants"
What about the other 50 million+ ?

A communist, liberation-theology Pope, that’s how. Plus, he’s a moron.
To: NYer
The Pope should stick to his knitting or tend his flock or something. Hmmmm... doubt the flock wants him messing about in their wool either.

I am no longer a practicing Catholic, but I have gotten to the point where if the Vatican thinks something is bad, I am reflexively thinking it is probably good.
There is something wrong with this Pope. It seems more than just his nanny-state Marxist views.

Sadly I believe that you are correct.
All of this is being driven by what they feel is most likely to start refilling the collection baskets.
To: fieldmarshaldj
Yeah. Funny how that 11 million number from about 20 years ago seems to stick like glue.
It was probably wildly low back then, too.

Couple more Catholics here who voted for Trump and pretty much ignore this Pope.
