I suppose that this assertion might shock you, but the doctrine of the "rapture" was never taught prior to 1830. Even if it's a little uncomfortable to consider, I would ask you to stay with me on this. . .

Rapture?

What did Jesus say when the disciples asked Him to explain the parable lo for the tares?

It was and remains crystal clear.

“Here is the schedule of coming events. Get ready!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
I’m assuming you’re the exception to that rule, then?
[ Yes, it’s a ridiculous, destructive, unscriptural doctrine that is perpetuated by a kind of “cultural” Christianity. But, people are loath to give up something that they grew up with and that comforts them even if it really can’t be defended. Gary DeMar has a very readable book on the subject (End Times Madness, I think.). There are actually quite a few articles and books that detail the history and errors of the ‘Rapture” theology. You just won’t find them at LifeWay stores or for sale by TV preachers. ]
I think the rapture “ideal-idolatry” is just that: idolatry
It is a damned excuse to not do anything to change anything to fix the issues of sin in the living world because “God is gonna beam up us righteous folks any minute now” just keep donating to the church that promises you access to god’s personal teleport codes and you will be set for the afterlife.
Compelling but careful with the date setting FRiend!
All it does is give credence to the naysayers.
Of all Christians, throughout all time, only a small group of believers, essentially ALL co-located in location (USA) and time (Progressive Era) believe in this false doctrine.
Well that’s just not enough.....it’s pretty clear Jesus took our judgment against sin on Himself....the tribulation period is a time of God’s Great Judgment on the sins of mankind who rejected him...so even common sense says he will take us out of the way of that Judgement.
Paul tells us that Jesus will not return until the man of lawlessness is first revealed and this man of lawlessness cannot be revealed until “he who now restrains” him is taken away. 2 Thess. 2
So since the Holy Spirit indwells the believers, if the Holy Spirit is removed, so then must the believers that He indwells be gone from the earth.
It is the Holy Spirit who is hindering, standing in the way, restraining the powers of evil in our day... it is actually the Holy Spirit in the life of the believers that is the hindering force. So once the power of the Holy Spirit within the body of believers is removed and no longer restraining, the powers of evil will take over. It will be a quick plunge into the darkest hour of the history of man. It will not last long at all.
It will be the two witnesses and the 144 thousand tribulation saints that will do the work during the Tribulation...not the church (believers) we’ll be gone.
The angels taking Lot and his family out of Sodom is a great illustration of the rapture.
The Bible sets dates. Starting with “there was evening and there was morning, one day.” The date of Jesus’ birth was set in the stars, so that the Wise Men of the East could identify it. The date of Palm Sunday was set by the decree(s) to rebuild Jerusalem. YHWH told Noah it would start raining in one week. Jesus told the disciples that the Holy Spirit would come to them on Pentecost. The Revelation 12:1-2 sign in the heavens is going to happen on September 23-24, 2017.
Tell that to Jerome, he was the one responsible for the word “rapiemur” being in the Latin Vulgate. English translation: rapture.
“The Bible sets dates.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
man does, actually. God lives outside of time. Besides any and all such timelines are off by at least 11 days:
http://mentalfloss.com/article/51370/why-our-calendars-skipped-11-days-1752

So, either God will have to hurry it up or cool His heels awhile if He’s gonna fit into such schedules.

I did not credit it at a private school surrounded by its adherents. I do not credit it now.

No rapture is found anywhere in the scriptures.

The Thessalonians were specifically told by Paul that the “Man of Sin” must first come, after a total moral falling away.

The “first Resurrection” is a scheduled event, that occurs at the Day Of Trumpets, the beginning of the Seventh Biblical month.

There is no mystery about when that day will be, it approaches in the very near future, at the end of Daniel’s Seventieth Sabbath, which will be in the Fall of 2024 by all appearances.

I am making up a “left behind “ kit so the new “owners” will know where everything is.

Yeah, I don’t care much either way - there’s always at least a dozen sides to this type of thing. What a person can do is help another to consider things he may have overlooked before.

But I’m a “pantheist” on such mstters; that is, with God, everything will pan out when all is said and done.

Nothing in Yehova’s plan is “off by 11 days.”

All of his days are counted from a new moon.

The “Day of Trumpets,” seven years after the coming Jubilee this year. 2024 will be a very good year for believers.

So you’re saying 21 Sep 2017 there will be a rapture? As in people go missing?

How about put some money behind that belief? I’m willing to make a few bucks from you ;-)
