I suppose that this assertion might shock you, but the doctrine of the "rapture" was never taught prior to 1830. Even if it's a little uncomfortable to consider, I would ask you to stay with me on this. . .

Fire Insurance perhaps? I have known many who feel that once they commited to Christ by uttering the “sinners Prayer” to in the Bible anyway), then they can check that off their list and do what they want..my feeling is that He asked them why they look up for Him? Is he in the sky or in your heart? I don’t want to wait for G-d to come at some future date that no one knows, but I want him in the Temple that He has built in my heart. My wife always responds wisely when people try to drag her inro a discussion about ‘rapturing’: She always says “that is a G-d thing, and I leave it to others to worry about that.”
What about Elijah? He was raptured! Didn’t Elisha get a double portion of Elijah’s anointing if he saw him leave in the chariot God sent for him? I think only Enoch and Elijah were raptured into presence of God.
Philip was transferred from one area to another, after baptizing the Ethiopian...not raptured. Sort of ‘beam me up Scotty, and replanted elsewhere, lol’ God is so Awesome!
And nobody will know the day nor the hour, not even the angels.
I Thessolonians 4:17 is clear, no reason not to believe in the divine inspiration of God in preparing his own:
The Return of the Lord
16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. 17After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words.
(unquote)
THERE IS A RAPTURE, AND IT IS COMING.
Israel is known in the Bible as the Fig Tree, and it says ‘when the Fig Tree puts forth her leaves”. Israel became a nation in 1948, so after all of the Jews came together and formed a nation, there is reason to believe that the scripture, which says ‘this generation shall NOT ALL pass away, before ALL things come to pass’.... it is not complicated to understand God’s Word. The Holy Spirit will teach you the deep things of God! Look up your redemption draws nigh! Praise God!
NOONE knows the time, nor the day of Jesus return, only the Father in Heaven!
[Paul tells us that Jesus will not return until the man of lawlessness is first revealed and this man of lawlessness cannot be revealed until he who now restrains him is taken away.]
Don’t tell the preterists nor the partial-preterists. Both are in for a surprise. Read one guy who thought he’ll be driving around when the Second Coming occurs. Ha.
I wonder if folks that believe in the rapture generally have less pets than those don’t believe in the rapture. I guess there are services that supposedly offer to take care of the pets left behind, but to my understanding the chaos and destruction post rapture makes it doubtful they would be able to fulfill their contract. So I reckon they are generally thought to be scams.

It’s not - Paul taught it in the 50’s and 60’s (1st Century). 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18;
Even Jesus mentioned it in Matthew 24 (read the entire chapter) Matt 24:40-43; John 14:2-3.
Epharaem the Syrian said, in 373 AD, For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins.
Elijah sure was raptured - but for other reasons than escaping judgement. Yes, you are correct.
I mentioned Philip only because he was “partially raptured” or transferred as you say. Paul was literally beamed up (read 2 Corinthians 12:2-5). Straight to God’s throne room! Imagine what our brother saw!
God is Wonderful!
The problem with ‘Dispensationalism’ is that there are no ‘Dispensations’.
I grew up under Darby teachings. My great grandfather in England was closely associated with Darby. I believe the Lord has shown me clearly that the ‘Rapture’ teaching is not Biblical. I say this, but do not desire to engage in argument on the subject.
I know who my redeemer is, my Lord Jesus Christ. I trust Him fully and explicitly. That is all I need to know. He will see me through.
And just one thought about Noah...He was not taken out (Raptured), he was taken through. As were the other seven souls and all the animals in the Ark.

What? No exploding graves? No plane seats with empty clothes? No wrecked cars with roofs blown open from the inside? No vacant caskets?
No terrified husband watching food burn on the stove as he frantically asks, “Oh my God! WHERE’S MY WIFE!!?”
Dullsville...used to like those Jack Chick potboilers.
That’s a dishonest and evasive answer.
You know good and well that was not the point of the original assertion.
In 1750, was “the Rapture” and commonly known or taught concept in Christianity. Yes or no?
Sure, you are the exception if you say you are.
It took them a long time to dream up that one.
One does not need to beleive this.
Can’t read about the resurrection of the dead issue in 1 Thessalonians without reading the details given in 2 Thessalonians. You are correct. The key to the second coming of Messiah is the resurrection of the dead, especially in Revelation where the First Resurrection and the resurrection of the rest are defined. Maranatha!
