Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

It’s not surprising. There is a trend of so-called evangelicals who are practicing this stuff. The “Together” rally in DC in 2016 was exactly this mindset. I don’t follow Catholicism any longer because it’s doctrine is ripe with unbiblical beliefs (I say this as a former Catholic). Francis has been peddling his “come home” campaigns towards Protestants, and many mainline denominations have bought into it. I believe this is a sign of the times as we move towards the coming One World Religion.

The pope met with a well-known evangelical and other religious heads to “come together” (make other religions more like catholics - no reverse adoption of faith happening). Sadly, for evangelicals, this is most likely the start of the “one world religion” prophesied in the bible that will hold sway during the tribulation. Fortunately, the evangelicals can act independently so not all faith will be lost and the one world religion will not net everyone.
What is underhanded is that, while some pastors told their flocks what they were going to do (morph into catholicism), others are in stealth mode in order to avoid
“upsetting” anyone.

I suppose FRoman Catholics will cease mocking evangelical “mega churches” now?

Oh wait, who am I kidding? They still rant and rail against Martin Luther despite his having a statue in the Vatican and negotiations nearing fruition to bring Lutherans into communion.

There are an awful lot of people who call themselves Christians but who don’t read the Bible or understand it at all.

The "Sacred Heart of Jesus" is a pagan ritual which has it roots in some "experiences" that has nothing to do with scripture. It is based solely upon experiences and "visions" that some claim to have had. I would call your attention to the Catholic website GetFed for what they had hope to be a positive explanation of What You Didn't Know About the Sacred Heart of Jesus. While I understand it is one of the most popular feast days for the Catholic Church, it has no basis in scripture.

Saying all that, it doesn't surprise me that that some Protestants who have no understanding of scripture and are not grounded in the Word of God would succumb to such pagan idolatry.

I might add that the website states "However, this article will attempt to skim the surface of these mysteries just a bit, so that you can appreciate this special devotion in a deeper theological way." It is astounding that one would try to explain "deeper theological" truths based upon the experiences and visions of others. They might as well join the Mormons.

... that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me ... ...

These things Jesus spoke, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said: Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee. As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him. Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now glorify thou me, O Father, with thyself, with the glory which I had, before the world was, with thee. I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou hast given me out of the world. Thine they were, and to me thou gavest them; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known, that all things which thou hast given me, are from thee: Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me: because they are thine: And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are. While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those whom thou gavest me have I kept; and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture may be fulfilled. And now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy filled in themselves. I have given them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world; as I also am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from evil. They are not of the world, as I also am not of the world. Sanctify them in truth. Thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me; That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as we also are one: I in them, and thou in me; that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me. Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me may be with me; that they may see my glory which thou hast given me, because thou hast loved me before the creation of the world. Just Father, the world hath not known thee; but I have known thee: and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have made known thy name to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I in them.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is the service of idols. For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief, In which you also walked some time, when you lived in them. But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth. Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds, And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him. Where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, bond nor free. But Christ is all, and in all. Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy, and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience: Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another: even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also. But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection: And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God. All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Colossians, Catholic chapter three, Protestant verses five to seventeen,
