So This Is Christmas/John Lennon - A Biblical Perspective
IFB ^ | 12/22/17

Dear friends, I grew up in the world for 24 years before I came to Christ, so I know its thinking and ways because I once lived it and walked its course (Eph. 2:1-14). As I was at work today, they were playing the world's Christmas carols which have a secular and demonic mood to it of utopia through relativism and bankrupt human love; which excludes RIGHTEOUSNESS and Almighty God man's ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Creator (Rom. 1:18-32). One song that was played today was John Lennon's, So This Is Christmas (War is Over). I had to laugh as I listened to the words and praised the Lord from what He saved me from! This John Lennon song is a total swipe and dig at the TRUE biblical Christmas message and the rejection there of. Mr. "Peace" (John Lennon himself), seeks to encourage all through moral relativism and lawlessness to seek world peace, to end war and "love" one another as fallen humanity (Isa. 48:22; 49:1; 57:21, Rom. 3, Jude 1:10). Hey world, how has that idiocy worked out for humanity since the fall (Psalm 14, Rom. 3, James 4:1-4)? Think I'm being intolerant and cruel? My dear friends, I use to think just like that; for John Lennon was a hero of mine in the days of my vanity. That demonic mindset is a TOTAL DELUSION and how mankind loves to drink it in, especially during the Christmas holiday season! Satan's subtle counter Christmas message is alive in well on planet earth and because of global unbelief, it is received yearly. Tragically, as John Lennon goes, he was the world's leading musician advocate for "peace"; however, in the reprobate world of John Lennon he NEVER found "peace" in this world and in the end was murdered by one of his fans.

You’d think if someone’s going to write a whole article about a song, they’d get the name of it right.

It’s Happy Xmas (War Is Over).

This Lennon ‘Christmas’ song is a bit of a downer for the spirit of the season. More of a gloomy than a happy song. At the end its totally ruined with its ‘war is over’ lyrics.

I turn it off when it comes on the radio. Despise it.

I loathe this song I can't hit the mute button fast enough when Lennon, a former mugger and wifebeater, pontificates this guilt trip at me.

The only other song on the radio that infuriates me as much is "Imagine". This slimeball was trying to sell us the communist manifesto as music. It is a "Che" t-shirt thrown at us in the key of G.

No one knows evil like a Christian.

Temptation is not nipping at his heels...it is snarling and raging at his heels.

Non Christians do not know evil as do Christians.

Just because you were numbered among the evil does not give you knowledge of evil.

That experience actually blinds you to evil.

I have read a few of your missives and am always amazed at your hubris and lack of humility.

As a monk of the tertiary but protestant order...I think you are a novice.

Even some of the usual Christmas songs are not Scripturally correct. Just compare them with the Gospels especially Matthew and Luke.

John Lennon mugger? As I remember him he doesn’t look like he could be a threat to a chocolate eclair ! Where do you gel that?

There is something wrong with your theology.

I don't doubt that you are well intentioned...but you appear to be too ill equipped for this battle.

I guess I’m the only conservative on the planet that likes Imagine and his Christmas tune. I think I’ll listen to both now.

Here’s the Christmas one:

BTW...you got the ignorant part right.

You may love the Lord, but you are still ignorant. We are all ignorant as to His ways...but you post as though you are not ignorant.

In the formative days when some of the future beatles members were playing in Hamburg they made extra bucks mugging sailors. Lennon ain't the saint we are told he was.

This is excerpted from one bio:

Despite the granny glasses of his late '60s - early '70s phase, my understanding is that Lennon grew up poor in a working class environment, got into more than his share of fights growing up, and worked in some rough nightclubs in Germany with the early versions of the Beatles - his bandmate Stuart Sutcliffe died of a brain hemorrhage a few days after he, Lennon and Pete Best had reportedly gotten into a brawl in a club in Hamburg.

I never believed he was a saint.
I was never much of a fan of any of them.

I always liked Emerson Lake and Palmer’s “Father Christmas” - although the music more than some of the lyrics.

Keith Emerson (RIP) did a solo Christmas Album. Lots of creative stuff (I like the “Starship Christmas” song with the kid’s singing), along with some old standbys that he of course did his rearrangements too.

Below is his version of “Silent Night” with piano and a choir belting out the verses.

Too much bitterness and anger! Not the way a Christian should think.
