Benedict XVI: ‘I Am on a Pilgrimage Home’

In a new letter, the Pope Emeritus speaks of his declining strength but says he is surrounded by 'love and goodness'

The Pope Emeritus has written to an Italian newspaper to say he is “on a pilgrimage Home” in this “final period of my life”.

In a nine-line letter to Corriere della Serra, Benedict XVI thanks the paper’s readers for their concern, and assures them he is surrounded “by a love and a goodness that I could not have imagined”.

“I was moved that so many readers of your newspaper want to know how I am spending this last period of my life,” he said.

“I can only say in this regard that, in the slow decline of physical strengths, inwardly I am on a pilgrimage Home,” he added, capitalising the Italian word ‘Casa’.

“It is a great grace for me to be surrounded, in this rather tiring last piece of the road, by a love and a goodness that I could not have imagined.”

One of the best Pope’s in many many years. May his final days be filled with peace and love.

Yes, yes, and yes!
Benedict is a theological Einstein. You reads his books, essays, and homilies, and in comparison all the rest is like manure especially the pedestrian writings that cascade from the blogs of non-Catholic pastors that peddle soapy nonsense. So-called pastors like Joel Osteen and company should be tried before heresy tribunals and sentenced to prison for propagating prosperity gospels. Without belief in the Holy Eucharist every other form of belief is vacuous, totally.

I recall him being called “God’s Rottweiler” back in the day.

It was not made clear AT ALL why this GREAT Pope went away and this bebuiling, gay, commie Pope suddenly parachuted in.

NOT CLEAR AT ALL.

So he says he is heading home? Maybe he knows something might happen to him.

What a truly great man. We entered the Catholic Church with Pope Benedict XVI. Such a blessing to have this man lead the universal church. I am glad he is at peace. I am honored and blessed to have been alive to be touched by his life.

Patience, dear gaijin, ‘in the end all things will be revealed.’ I know of several feasible theories why BXVI may have abdicated; and I don’t believe any of what I read, and only half of what I see, but that aside; I believe when the truth is shown B XVI did the right thing under those extreme, yet (unknown) circumstances...

Ratzinger is a man of heroic virtue, & I have no doubt that he would rather earn the crown of martyrdom than mislead his sheep.

Think about it, gaijin, you know I’m right about this ~

He abdicated the Papacy and turned it over to a globalist lefty.

What innocent explanation is there for this?

...

My guess is some corrupt liberal Western governments are blackmailing the church and using sex scandals as leverage.

I wonder about this myself. I’m not Catholic but I tend to believe that Benedict did not make his decision voluntarily.....especially considering who replaced him. I knew this guy was trouble from day one because of the way the mediots fawned over him.
