How does this compare to, say, the Los Angeles School District?
Its not a scene of abuse. What a silly thing to call it.
Its a crime scene.
If the church understood that. If the police treated it that way. If the parishioners knew...the problem would have been a 1 and done.
Every system that confers power to people attracts at least some people who want to abuse that power. Government, organized (even loosely organized) religion, and other systems always produce abuse. The type of abuse depends on the structure and how it exposes vulnerabilities.
With that being said, why are there so many religions across the planet with each one claiming to be the one and only true house of God?
Religions are a farse and nothing more than an opportunity to reap the financial benefits of those who want to believe in a higher order and only in their church can that be achieved.......with your tithings, you "love offerings", your "$1,000 financial seed" that God will multiply for you.......ad nauseum.
If it isn't the Catholic church it's the Bakkers, Robert Tilton, Peter Popoff, Jimmy Swaggert.........and the sordid list goes on.
No thank you, I don't need a church or religious leader to preach to me about the word of God then ask for money.
I can believe in God on my own at home.
I think the sexual abuse in the Church is part of a concerted agenda to set boys on the path to lifelong homosexuality and weaken the Church.
