Because the Church was an obstacle, so it was targeted and infiltrated?

They let perverts ... homosexuals ... into positions of power. ANY organization that puts homosexuals in positions of power will see the same or similar problems.

Rule One: No Poofters!

Sex predators have always gravitated to places where they have unfettered access to their chosen prey.

Uh, because some churches decided to enable homosexuality in the ranks of their leadership. I mean, duh, how hard is this?

I don’t buy that these homosexual preists molest boys ceause they cannot marry a wife.

Maybe if they want to try to make the case that other men might be attracted to the priesthood if they could bring their wife with them, they’d only need to look at protestant churches where it also goes on even without the celibacy requirement.

Sodomites. The church didn’t read their own Bible when they let them join.

I believe Pope John Paul II was warned of this during a frightening encounter in St. Peter's Square, after the time of the Mehmet Ali Ağca assassination attempt. I remember the story when it came out, back in the 1980s. I can't find it via Google, perhaps it has been expunged from the internet.

Soon after the incident, the first stories of child abuse by priests began to emerge in Boston and elsewhere.

Homosexual men do not all want to trick, groom, and abuse young boys. Priests do not all want to trick, groom, and molest young boys, either.

Men who want to have sex with young boys learn (probably from Pedo groups) that priests have great opportunities and so they go in that direction.

All Pedophilia is sick. But using your authority as a Person Closer to Gd on children is far worse than anything except the parental authority. I was molested by a school authority and that was pretty wrong. But from a clergy it is even worse.

Why?
Are you KIDDING??
Because SATAN and Homosexuals have taken over the church.

That’s why.
The ‘opposition’ is now in charge.

The Catholic Church (and nearly all Christian Churches) has gone soft on adultery, homosexuality and sexual sin. Raising the topic, even for the Pope, means you are “judgmental,” cold-hearted, or uncharitable. it turns off people in our post-modern, hedonistic age.

Yet without an extremely clear, almost reactionary response against such sin and top-to-bottom Church recognition of it - the sin, in all forms, will automatically seep into the Church, its followers, and its leaders. Put bluntly, the Church needs to stand up boldly and confront society -but it doesn’t have the “balls” to do so.

Thus, this contradiction and dissonance will continue to cripple, enfeeble, and continue to weaken the Church. I confess with what I see today, I am a little worried about Matthew 16:18

Satan has all the evil people he can devour at will...withered, decaying souls, unsatisfying fare. He is determined to eat the fat, juicy souls of religious people who fall for his temptations of mind, body, and soul. Can you think of a better target than a pastor or priest?

Why?

Let’s get back to basics: Means, Motive, Opportunity.

When someone is put in a position of respect and authority, he (and she for lesbo teachers, but we’re talking about the Church here) has Means and Opportunity.

The self-sacrifice of celibacy is supposed to remove motive. But if it doesn’t, and it clearly not only doesn’t for some clergy, but encourages motive... well, there y’go. The trifecta is present.

I kept an eye on my boys’ sports coaches. I had a liberal friend who called me homophobic, but he was a fool.

These rapists were NOT real "priests' in the service of God.

They were sexual predators using the patina of religion to make access to young children easier.

Toss them out, turn whatever monsters are left (who haven't died of old age yet) over to the legal system and pray they die in prison before being met at the gates of hell.

I am Catholic.

My Church’s response to these incidents was to force me, an usher volunteering 2 hours each week, to go get a background check.

The question of "why" so many perverted priests is not so difficult.

Let's see, except for relatively few Eastern Roman Catholic priests (RCs):
- Pope, Bishops and the general rank of RC priests are required to be single.
- Priests generally live with other priests.
- Many priests have access to and mentor young men.

If ever there was a good environment for homosexuals to live and operate, the RC priesthood, from the top down, seems to be it.

In general it is because Churches are made up of people. And people are fallen beings. Even the best of us do things we should not.

In the case of the Catholic Church it is because they allowed sodomites to become priests under the theory that that people who define themselves, indeed center their entire identity, by who makes their genitals twitch are no more likely to trespass then those who are normal.

The problem is that this is false.

They then compounded their error by discarding their old ways of dealing with sodomite priests who broke their vows in favor of "therapy" after which they were sent forth to "sin no more".

Doesn't work.

This has led them into their present dilemma.

Don’t know, but that’s why I do not go to that place and never will again.

Church is full to the brim with evil people from front to back.

Pass.

Multiply this by 49 other states and you’ll have an idea of the scope of the issue and the real truth about the catholic church.
