Maybe if they want to try to make the case that other men might be attracted to the priesthood if they could bring their wife with them, they’d only need to look at protestant churches where it also goes on even without the celibacy requirement.
It appears that Bill Donahue of the Catholic League has actually read the report. It’s not 300 priests. Included are the usual deacons and choir masters and other employees of the Church. Many of them are dead and so can’t speak up for themselves - because the accusations go back to WWII!
This is not to say there isn’t a problem. But, as usual, the media isn’t doing its homework because it is not in their interest to do their homework.

81% of the cases in the PA report involve male clergy sexually molesting young teenage boys. Male on male is homosexuality. Purge the church of these faggots and fix the problem. A lot of them are bishops. Fact.
