Herein we see Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen predicting the advent of depraved individuals like Peter Buttigieg who have no intention of making amends for their vices. In fact, he positively revels in them and condemns those who will not affirm his sinful lifestyle.

Its all about free will. Conservatives celebrate the individual and hold each person accountable for their personal behavior and choices. the Left essentially denies the existence of true free will and believes that behavior is a result of the collective construct, which they must design and enforce.

Our free will is, by necessity, constrained by the reality we live in.
We simply can't do, or shouldn't do, everything we want.
Even within that framework there are still many choices we are free to make.

Absolutely. In his ridiculous attack against Vice President Mike Pence, he says he cannot control who he loves. What other emotions can he not control? Is a man not in control of his emotions a suitable leader? What should his significant other think? Will he abandon his mate when the next person takes control over his emotions? Butt is an excellent example of being controlled from without instead of within.

I’ve heard it said that the flesh has it’s own agenda, the spirit temporarily residing in that flesh, if strong enough and pure enough, can and will control the sinful nature of it’s flesh.

That's a great point. The answer is, "Yes, you can control it. You choose not to. And also, sodomy has nothing to do with 'love'. It is self-indulgent, depraved behavior. Nothing more."

I’m a long way from being a Catholic, but Bishop Sheen is an American prophet and among the Righteous of the Nations.
Every conservative should at least be familiar with his diagnosis of the American illness.

Deuteronomy commands ‘love the LORD’ and Jesus repeats it in Matthew. God commands an emotion.
A Christian who claims not to be able to control his emotions is a heretic, or is mentally or perhaps physically ill.

What a country the US must have been in the 1950s, that it could have a nation-wide regular network show hosted by Bishop Sheen.
How far from that world we are today...
To: Antoninus
Fulton Sheen is correct in that statement.

And it was a top-rated show as well. Intellectually, we have tumbled a long way since 1953.

It boggles the mind doesnt it, to realize this was a top hit in the 50s? What are the TV hits of today? I dont even know anymore (nor do I care to know).
Television itself isnt evil its whats on thats evil (or good). Sadly the evil has taken over. Probably because being a TV Star makes one much more prone to the sin of pride, which then invites more sin.
Regardless, we have fallen much since the venerable Archbishops days.

About ‘behavior’...
Remember a few years back when Ellen was ‘invited’ to the White House with her then ‘girlfriend’ and the two were running around holding hands and acting ‘giddy’?
‘WE’ were critical of it and were immediately accused of being homophobic even though ‘WE’ were adamant in the fact that ‘WE’ would NOT act in that fashion with our wives and would probably get called out for the boorish behavior.
I think this was right around the time that the ‘candid’ shot of billandhillary ‘dancing’ in a secluded hideaway on the beach..
Seem to remember the picture posted, NO ONE NOTICE (or cared) until ‘they’ started claiming invasion of privacy or some such drivel - THEN the pic got maximum showage.

There's tons of them on YouTube. I watch them all the time. The man was not only brilliant, insightful and spiritually challenging, but also eloquent and funny.
