“You don’t even have the Scriptures except through the Catholic Church’s authority.”

Poor God He would just be out of luck if it wasn’t for the whore of rome...

Isaiah 14:13
And thou saidst in thy heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit in the mountain of the covenant, in the sides of the north.

Pharaoh of Egypt was used by the Lord also, but it wasn’t because he was holy.

I see your pride is only out done by church.

“God guided the Christian community long before Rome came to the party.”

How dare you think that the Lord God can do anything without the roman church’s permission or help it’s impossible I tell you.

Thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit guiding those early Christians and the epistles/letters that circulated through the churches of the day whether bound or unbound they were still called the Holy Scriptures.

You’d better offer me some proof that your organization really DOES have the authority of the Apostles if I’m going to accept anything you claim.

After Rome saw that it would be profitable to create and use a bastardized version of Christianity they simply put their stamp of "approval" on the texts that were already being used.

That is a novel interpretation of history. You realize that all of the individual Churches throughout the world up through the late 4th century AD had their own canon of Scriptures. They differed somewhat which is why various Church councils attempted to grapple with the question. You'll note that the Council of Carthage (not Rome, btw), held during the episcopacy of St. Augustine (AD 397), contains a list that would look very familiar to any Catholic.

If you wanted to go back to the very early Church, however, you might also want to consider including Enoch, the Apocalypse of St. Paul, the Shepherd of Hermas, 3 Corinthians, Christ's Letter to Abgar, the Didache, and Paul's Epistle to the Laodiceans. All of these were accepted by certain groups of Christians at one point or another.
