Just because you say that “water and spirit are figurative” does not make it make it so.

That's right, I didn't make it so. Jesus made it so, and taught by His Word, which throughout illustrates the principle to the born-again discerner, have easily grasped it as consistent with the context. But your ignorant false religious dogma precludes such recognition. I can;t help that.

And so it is for the rest of your presumptuous observations in the remainder of this post of yours. If I thought you were teachable, I would mend your mistakes. But experience shows otherwise, so I'll just ignore your naivete.

Jesus made wine - alcoholic wine - out of water

You were there to determine the physical state of the KoolAid that he made?

In God I trust. You will have to bring data.

You are both adding to the Word, detracting from it, and twisting it:

"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;  As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned* and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction" (2 Peter 3:15-16 AV).

* "unlearned" here is better translated "undiscipled";
(Your religious instruction is so poor that much of it is false. You just keep on destroying your credibility, without relief.)

Cronos: you reject Jesus’ very words about the Eucharist.

imardm1 : Nope. I just reject yours. Go ahead, waste your time, not mine.
........................

Cronos objectively posted Scripture and Jesus’ words from Scripture.

So, you are rejecting Christ’s words because Cronos posted them.

You ignore what Jesus told us

Haven't ignored it at all Cronos. Your misinterpretation is abysmal:

“He who believes and is baptized in the Spirit at the moment of salvation will be saved; but he who does not believewith a saving trust will be condemned. Mark 16;16

There are more than one baptisms [actually seven (click here)]; including the one above, instantaneous and invisible at the very second that salvation/justification/sanctification occurred, once for all time, in the Spirit; and afterward the public visible ritual induction into the Company of the local church conferred by water immersion, and itself not salvific:

and Jesus instructions to His Catholic Church first generation of Apostle.disciplers "baptizingin water deep enough to drown themrecruited, instructed, and regenerated disciples inby the delegated authority the namesingular, neuter of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

In this Jesus is talking about the God-Head, Whose Name in the singular is in Hebrew "Jehovah Elohim"--one title, uniplural, not three.

Cronos, you are so unschooled in these things that it could make one weep, if it was not a deliberate ostrich-type ignorance.

Salvation is an ongoing process and not a once and done claim that you believe.

Wrong! You are so undiscipled in this access. What you are describing here is NOT salvation. It is progressive sanctification, the process of spiritual growth from "brephos" (new-spiritual-borne babe in Christ; 1 Pet. 2:2); to ) to "naypios" (diapered infant, untrainable, unskilful in the word of rightousness; Heb. 5:13); to "paedion" (a child able to execute an order, teachable, able to talk with God; 1 Jn. 2:13); to "neaniskos" (young adult, have overcome the wicked one; 1 Jn. 2:13, 14)' to "teleios" (fully mature, tackle tough doctrinal problems, able to discern both good and evil); and finally "pater" having surmounted the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, loving the aspect of life with the Heavenly Father and His Son; loving not the world or the things of the world; and knowing God's Word from the time it was progressively revealed, through its completion, and its history with people ever since; an elder able to gain the respect of both equally as well as the less mature, and guide them, as a spiritual co-enabler and parent to listen to their True Guide and Comforter, the Holy Spirit, until their end in this temporal sphere is finished.

None of this is possible, nor comprehensible, nor possible to engage in unless one is first saved forever, redeemed from self, sin, the world and Satan, and has become the loyal solely owned possession of Jesus Christ, which happens at the beginning of the road of sanctification, not the end, as you mistakenly promote.

So there you are , Cronos. Figure out where you are. If you hare bot born from above, you have no place in this scenario.

Therefore, if one were to stop hearing Jesus’ word and to stop believing the one who sent him, one would lose eternal life and pass back from life to death.

Not grammatically possible. This is from the lip[s of The God-Man Jesus, omniscient, infallible, and inerrant, and when He deliberately uses the Perfect tense, Active voiice, and Indicative mode, third person singular (He/she/whosoever) It means without question that before the continuing of hearing and believing comes to pass, that FIRST at some point in time an irreversible repentance/belief instant of turning to God from Sin as a pleading, convicted, yearner for God's pardon through the transaction of Christ's blood paid for his sin debt and the righteousnes of Christ credited to his.her account has occurred; the and then only, will the progressive sanctification be in operation. SALVATION IS NOT A PROCESS ANY MORE THAN BEING DECLARED "NOT GUILTY."

Come on Cronos, get with it,You do the sinning, God/Christ does the saving. When He does the saving, it is perfected, complete, and irreversible. Which ONCE SAVED, YOU WILL HAVE HAD A CHANGE OF MIND, METANOEOH, SUCH THAT YOU WILL NEVER WANT THE OLD LIFE BACK.

If you do, you were not saved, only overcome with enthusuasm that fades, just like earthly lust. It is not for love of God, agapay/agapaoh, that is operating. If you prefer the world and the things in it over being wholly owned by Jesus as His slave and beloved Friend, then, my man, you are not saved and never have been. At that point, it is time to cry out with all your being for God's irrevocable redemption.

Not at all, my FRiend, if Jesus' words and the context were faithfully and correctly translated. But my opinion is that Cronos is a little spotty on this, and often, without spiritual discernment, frequently interprets the words to impart a meaning different than their original intent.

Translation and interpretation are not the same. Quite often, as it turns out, I reject what Cronos claims that the Bible is saying, not what the Scripture is actually saying.

Are youy so dull? I too reject Cronos’s INTERPRETATION of the passage since I can make the whole of The Word of God fit without contradiction by rejecting the blasphemous assertions of Cronos, Cathoolics, et al. The Word of God is clear about cannibalism and the drinking of blood. You and your ilk would have JESUS contradict the Word because in that one particualr passage you want to take Him literally to support what the Word commands not to do. Your blasphemous power lust in catholicism proves it is an ‘other religion’, not the Gospel as preached by the Apostles who were taught directly by Jesus. Away with you you workers of iniquity.

Let’s read John 6 - just the words of Jesus recorded

Nah, let's read ALL of it!

Chapter 6

Multiplication of the Loaves.[a] After this, Jesus went across the Sea of Galilee [of Tiberias].[b] A large crowd followed him, because they saw the signs he was performing on the sick. Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. The Jewish feast of Passover was near. [c]When Jesus raised his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?” [d]He said this to test him, because he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, “Two hundred days’ wages[e] worth of food would not be enough for each of them to have a little [bit].” One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves[f] and two fish; but what good are these for so many?” 10 Jesus said, “Have the people recline.” Now there was a great deal of grass[g] in that place. So the men reclined, about five thousand in number. 11 Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were reclining, and also as much of the fish as they wanted. 12 When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples, “Gather the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted.” 13 So they collected them, and filled twelve wicker baskets[h] with fragments from the five barley loaves that had been more than they could eat. 14 When the people saw the sign he had done, they said, “This is truly the Prophet,[i] the one who is to come into the world.” 15 Since Jesus knew that they were going to come and carry him off to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain alone.

Walking on the Water.[j] 16 When it was evening, his disciples went down to the sea, 17 embarked in a boat, and went across the sea to Capernaum. It had already grown dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea[k] and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid. 20 But he said to them, “It is I.[l] Do not be afraid.” 21 They wanted to take him into the boat, but the boat immediately arrived at the shore to which they were heading.

The Bread of Life Discourse. 22 [m]The next day, the crowd that remained across the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not gone along with his disciples in the boat, but only his disciples had left. 23 [n]Other boats came from Tiberias near the place where they had eaten the bread when the Lord gave thanks. 24 When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. 25 And when they found him across the sea they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?” 26 Jesus answered them and said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. 27 Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life,[o] which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.” 28 So they said to him, “What can we do to accomplish the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.” 30 So they said to him, “What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do? 31 [p]Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:

‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

32 So Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34 So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” 35 [q]Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst. 36 But I told you that although you have seen [me], you do not believe. 37 Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, 38 because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. 39 And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it [on] the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day.”

41 The Jews murmured about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,” 42 and they said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother? Then how can he say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 43 Jesus answered and said to them, “Stop murmuring[r] among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets:

‘They shall all be taught by God.’

Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. 47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; 50 this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”

52 The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?” 53 Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. 54 Whoever eats[s] my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” 59 These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

The Words of Eternal Life.[t] 60 Then many of his disciples who were listening said, “This saying is hard; who can accept it?” 61 Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them, “Does this shock you? 62 What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?[u] 63 It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh[v] is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe and the one who would betray him. 65 And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.”

66 As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him. 67 Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?” 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.” 70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you twelve? Yet is not one of you a devil?” 71 He was referring to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot; it was he who would betray him, one of the Twelve.

Ain't focusing on certain words, to the exclusion of others, down right FUN!!

you believe in the 19th century invention of the pre-tribulation rapture.

While you believe that 'at some point in 1214' the Rosary was presented by 'Mary' to Roche.
