Yet the book of Jude cites its prophecy as authoritative. I’ve always wondered about that.

Many apocryphal texts were widely read and published in the early church. Enoch was as old as the rest of the scriptures in the Old Testament, but even it was excluded by Jews from its canon.............

Maybe Enoch got that quoted section right.

It looks pretty correct to me.

The rest of Enoch . . . not so much.

Paul quoted the title of the statue “To the Unknown God”, as an example of quoting from ‘secular’ sources.
