The Messianic Redemption will be ushered in by a person, a human leader, a descendant of Kings David and Solomon, who will reinstate the Davidic royal dynasty. According to tradition, Moshiach will be wiser than Solomon, and a prophet around the level of Moses.

Ever since the destruction of the Holy Temple, in every generation there is an individual, a scion of the House of David, who has the potential to be the Moshiach. If at any moment the Jews are worthy of redemption, this person would be directed from Above to assume the role of the redeemer.

In every generation there is a scion of the House of David who has the potential to be the MoshiachDuring the Messianic Era, the Moshiach will serve a dual role. He will be a monarch, ruling over all of humanity with kindness and justice, and upholding the law of the Torah—613 commandments for the Jews, and seven for the non-Jews. Years ago when I was a reporter, I got to interview Gershon Salomon, the founder of the Temple Mount Faithful. Absolutely FASCINATING man. Among other things he was the only person known to have been run over by a tank and survived (this happened during the Six Day War).

Salomon said something that was absolutely beautiful: "When Messiah comes, I will be so completely overwhelmed with joy that I'll forget to ask if this is His first time coming or His second."

Thats a good attitude to have about the coming of Christ. We may disagree on whether or not He has come already (I believe He has) but in the eternal scheme of things He is still Someone so magnificent that we cannot comprehend fully. Things like a chronology of events will matter little, if at all. We won't be haggling over matters of timing. He will be sufficient, as He is even now.

How will we recognize Messiah?

Interesting timing to post this article, with the eclipse incoming tomorrow (big news, all eyes on it for one reason or another).

As it turned out, the regular date for the Feast of the Annunciation occurred during Holy Week (March 25, which was also Shushan Purim this year, and the deep penumbral lunar eclipse that came in tandem with the solar), so the date was moved two weeks ahead to tomorrow, April 8th.

I have met Gershon on an occasion or two. That is an old joke. I first heard it that Messiah came through Ben Gurion and the officer asked him is this your first visit to Israel?

And I wonder if the various ancestry sites have identified anyone.

The reason I posted these are the events of last week. On Wednesday, a huge lightning bolt struck the Statue of Liberty just as the Security Council was discussing the ‘Cease Fire’ of the Israel-Gaza War. Then, on Friday, New York City had an earthquake that was the largest since 1884, which was the year that the Berlin Conference set the borders for all of Africa. Again, The earthquake happened when the Security Council was discussing imposing sanctions on Israel for the war. Hmmmmm. Coincidence? I think not. Keep your eyes on events that occur after the eclipse next Monday. There are signs and wonders for those who can see.
