The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Maybe the only reason they seem so good to us is the only other thing we have to pick from is Daylight donuts, or donuts fried from fozen dough that come from a grocery store bakery. Krispy Kremes are exceptional compared to those. I guess if you don't have any other bakers making stuff from scratch, the arrival of a real baker is a Godsend. For what it's worth, the opening in this area drew some huge crowds and long lines.
I've heard it said that the south doesn't really have many bakeries, I guess you have confirmed that.

Oh, I know what it says. I repeat, could not is not the same as should not. I'd dig up this in Latin and have someone explain it if I thought you would listen. But I know you won't so nevermind.

What does the verse mean, Dave? To you, at least.

LOL. Tell me another one.Have you by any chance read any of her posts?

I think this one scored big time yesterday so I'm repeating it.
No, wonky, you are wrong because eariler today you showed that you had no grasp of how the idea of Mary's Queenship could be gathered from the Bible
Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, (how catholic) nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Mat 12:48 But He answered and said unto him that told Him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
RC's are SOOO strong and insistant and down right indignant on the whole mother son thing, but He sure isn't. I'll believe Him.
To: SoothingDave
Yeah, OK. Is there a point to this? Did you think I would disagree?Yes there is a point to this. You have disagreed with statements like the one I made about Mary. We had a discussion quite a while ago where the RC side said that Mary was special and God couldn't (maybe that is too strong a word) have used anyone else for the Incarnation.
I was arguing that if Mary had turned God down (although I still can't find where she was asked) that He could have used any virgin of the house of David to bring about the Incarnation. You disagreed.
Does anyone else remember that exchange?

If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple. Are you suggesting that we are supposed to hate our mothers and fathers?

Are you suggesting that we are supposed to hate our mothers and fathers? No, now please tell me what you think it means.

You open the pages, look at the ink marks and recall the meaning of the words written. Just like any other book.See my #13817.

I knew it! You're just here to stir the pot! ;-O I prefer to call it "facilitating the discussion". ;o)

Oh ... I'm sorry ... were you referring to Lone Star? Nope. Only in good ol' Round Rock. It's a local bakery that just happened to get famous for their donuts. KK doesn't hold a candle to them, IMO.

Does anyone else remember that exchange? The same argument is used every time the subject of Mary comes up. That exchange happened on many occasions. That's why I said: Good point.
Oh no, not you to.

I watched that show (reluctantly) the other night. I got a kick out of it. Some of them were so untalented yet thought that they should be chosen. Hilarious!
