True, but wasn't Jewish tradition, adding on to the laws God set forth in scripture, exactly what Christ objected to?

I think he objected to the legalistic approach and the laying on of burdens. There is nothign wrong with tradition and law, as long as it doesn't become an end unto itself and loses its compassion.

You were shown an example - two in fact, based on your initial statement. And those are based solidly in fact. So it stands answered - if you consider facts that refute your assertions to be "noise", that's your choice.

Seriously, Reggie. Forget about me and forget about the Catholic church. Would you rather live in a society that had standards of behavior, even if they rarely were lived up to; or would you like to live in a society where standards are ever lowered in an attempt to make sure no one feels bad?

Do you think people graduating with A's from high school today necessarily know as much as someone getting A's 50 years ago?

I believe that nobody but God, Jesus, and assorted angels are in heaven right now.

The rest of us, like Jesus showed, have to die a physical death and then be resurrected with a glorified body, just as the bible teaches.

When does the womens health during pregnacy justify contraception, in your opinion, or do you just give it up entirely? Is it only in life or death situations that it is OK, what about when pregnanecy just make the women extremely ill, to where it is difficult to take care of her other children, but not ill enough to cause death?

I agree with what you say here but I can't help but wonder if you believe we, here on earth, can pick and choose who the Saints are. IOW How can we consider a Saint ***** if it is not up to us to decide?

You forget about the binding and loosing, don't you? Not that you have to accept the idea, but that when we do accept it, it provides a basis for the Church to make such determinations.

Sorry, but the fact that Havoc does not respond is in itself a response. I have an obligation, as I see it, as do you and all of us, to present the facts as we believe they are, when we may disagree with something that is posted. I am sorry you are uncomfortable with that.

Actually, it's a pretty good strategy :) Post something that is not factual, and then refuse to provide further clairification or references in Scripture and ignore some of those who disagree with your presentment of the facts. Seems a bit peculiar, don't you think? :)
