A young woman would bear a son (Isaiah 7:14).

Angelo, you must have forgotten your Catholic training. If the Bible you use, (in this case, the RSV apparently), look at another version. All the older versions, Vulgate, DR, and even the NAB, use the word "virgin". Throw out the RSV in this instance and use the other versions for your argument. It makes little difference which is the more accurate, what is important is what you want to hear. That is why so many will use the DR only for the magic words; "full of Grace", and then return to their regular Bible.

ROFL Reggie, you crack me up. It's called pinball, though.. bounce between all the versions required to rack up something that looks good. It's a rigged Game, Tilt only works if someone catches you red handed.

That's a little disengenuous of you don't you think Reg?

I have told you twice now, and IMRight linked you to a version of it online, that the Revised Standard Version uses the same language:

Luke 1:28 - "Hail, Full of Grace."

The RSV is still in use today, and in fact that very passage in the RSV was read at a Mass I attended today.

That versions have crept in echoing the political "bend" and poor translation of protestant bibles in the New American Bible and probably other languages as well is a tragedy to, I'm sure, a vast multitude of Catholics. Just one more reason to clean house.
