Hey yeah, you almost had me with that...I was thinking of the Queen Mother thing, but Angelo just made me realize she's not still called the Queen, but the Queen mother. Queen is a title given only to the current ruler.

Hey guys, maybe you can clear up this Queen thing with Mary.

She was called "Queen of the Saints" in a recent RC prayer posted. Dave says it means Queen Mother, which seems rather weird because then the Saints would be kings. Of course if she's Queen Mother of Jesus, then why not say Queen Mother of Jesus?

My point of course is that if someone is a "Queen" then that means that they have rulership over something. What does Mary have rulership over? I'm really curious, it can be from tradition or whatnot, I'm just looking for an answer.

The recently deceased Queen Mum of England was a Queen not just to Elizabeth II, but also to the British people. That is, Mary being Queen is Queen of all in Heaven, not just those Him Who she carried.

Without wanting to start an argument or anything, tradition gnerally holds that Mary serves as the conduit through which the Grace of God enters the world. Christ earned the Grace by His Sacrifice. Christ entered the world through Mary. Grace entered the world because of Christ. Therefore Grace enters the world through Mary. This makes Mary the dispenser of Grace.

This is not to say that Mary acts of her won will, or by her won power. Rather, her will is completely in line with that of God.
