Brother, doin' some diggin'?

The red heifer stuff is a scam. Christian Zionists have been getting suckered by this "last days madness" for decades.

The Red Heifer has been sighted in America. She is currently serving as a United States Senator from the state of New York. ;)

Yup, I have developed an interest in end times prophecy.

I think I am a panmilleniallist. It will pan out just the way God wants...

Perhaps you didn't notice the Old Testament pattern, if you read it.

God is

WELL ABLE and WILL

provide:

1) the hefer.

2) the proper treatment of the hefer in accordance with HIS instructions.

He's not at all slack concerning such things.

I suppose you can accuse HIM of slackness,

if you wish.

I, personally, wouldn't recommend it.

Wars are HUMAN by nature

Absolutely correct. Religion, politics, etc., are simply the excuse.

Your explanation was quite clear and needs no embellishment.

What if this isn't The Red Heifer? What if it's just A Red Heifer?

That is the theme in my post. Perhaps you didn't notice the pattern in my thread in relation to the original post.

What if everyone is getting spun-up about a faux Red Heifer? Wouldn't that hurt your witness?

THAT WAS A RESPONSE TO THE ARTICLE.

And you know it.

The article used that language in abundance.

Besides, even if it had been personally directed to thread folks,

given the wide margin of personal attacks you folks love to deliver to me . . . it would appear I have a long ways to go to reach your sanctioned levels.

There might be some margin of grace in that, given I certainly don't plan to match you!

LITERAL

There is a huge distinction between literal and literalistic.

I suggest you are using a literalistic prism.

Well then, in Luke 21 Jesus "plainly" told His disciples and those living in 1st century Jerusalem ("this generation") that they would see "Jerusalem surrounded by armies" and for those living "in Judea to flee to the mountains."

You can't get much more literal than that.

Unless of course you really feel the need to invent red heifers, rebuild a long destroyed temple, and resurrect a Roman army just to knock it down again.

I'm just warning you out of Christian Love. Some might not have read your post in the context you intended.

invent red heifers, rebuild a long destroyed temple, and resurrect a Roman army just to knock it down again.

In the words of Lisa Douglas:

That makes sense.

I read an excellent paper written by an Army Chaplain on that very topic.

His contention is that historically, wars are fought for a variety of reasons. The rulers of nations wage war for power, wealth, prestige, real estate. They cloak these reasons under the guise of religion, which serves to inflame the masses, but religion is not the underlying cause for most wars.
