The 'powers that be' was headed by Bernadin and he is now room temperature. If anyone should get hit up with RICO it would be him. He was directly responsible for the Rudy Kos mess in Dallas. Our diocese is having to pay 31 million dollars because Bernadin made it possible for Kos to gain admission to our seminary.
We have three things working in our favor, as painful as they are:
1.) The liberal media has finally seen fit to cover it. 2.) The groups who have endorsed homosexual priests are being exposed.
3.) The Pope has let them know that they must, in no uncertain terms, fix the problem.
Seeing as how we have been forced to pick up the tab for the lawsuits, there may not be any need to go the RICO route. I will venture to guess that if they do not make a strong effort to fix the problem in June when they met in Dallas, now that the scandal is entirely out in the open, then stronger measures may have to take place. Let's see what they do. This Dallas meeting has had a good impact in the past when they dealt with moral issues like abortion. Let's pray that they do the right thing this time around about this most awful problem.

...and since he had just removed our pastor so a liberal could take over our parish, you should have heard...Good for your Parish!

"Slow down."Well, there are a lot of post abortion counseling services out there, and I prefer to recommend ones that I haven't heard negative things about.
They're off my list.

My wife's working tonight and she doesn't want me to bring the kids (4 & 7). Hopefully someone else can give us a report.

respectable gay organizations would be an oxymoron If I ever heard one. Yes, gay organizations Like the Log Cabin Republicans who have gained the Respect of George W. Bush and because of his respect for the Log Cabin Republicans and gays, President Bush has appointed more gays to posts than any other president, has attended meetings with the LCR and has agreed to recognize Gay Partners with Children under the definition of Family.
This President, not only Respects Homosexual Organizations but is even a greater friend to gays than Bill Clinton!
God Bless Him.

Since you suffer from Same-Sex Attraction (SSA), I encourage you as a Catholic to seek out the help of a Catholic ministry that can help you overcome this.
The apostolate is called Courage, and it is a way to grow in faithfulness and a discipline to help one overcome attractions that can lead to mortal sin.

They have been able to operate under the cover of darkness and with the liberal press turning a blind eye to all of their activities. Let's keep turning over these rocks. Let us pray that the painful truth all comes out. It is time. I, for one, do not mind the wailing and gnashing of teeth. If this is what it takes, so be it. It is time to fight for our Chruch I agree wholeheartedly. Lets put all the cards on the table and solve this abomination. Our Church will become stronger as a result.

Thanks for the ping h_m.
I would strongly urge everyone to consider the source when reading statements of individuals who bash Catholic charities, works, and then suddenly 'recommend' non Catholic alternatives. These same individuals also 'announce' that they are leaving the Church to give the impression that there is a mass exodus because of this scandal. Investigate these individuals and their previous posts. Consider them in totality because that will give you a picture of the person they are. Do not take them at their word. This appears to be a popular tactic here at FR lately among non Catholic evangelicals. Their manner of speaking and word choice gives away their religious affiliations. No matter how much they protest to the contrary this is a dead giveaway that they cannot control. Their behavior is most definitely not Christian.

Please continue to give to Project Rachel. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about them. I recommended a friend to them and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about them.

I've noticed an increasing amount of trolling as well. No one should mistake our repugnance of sin as doubts about our ecclesial faith; ultimately, truth will triumph, and we and our Church will be stronger tomorrow for the trials we endure today. God bless.
