Announcing the Catholic Freeper Locator List
June 14, 2002 | Romulus

Posted on 06/14/2002 8:24:23 AM PDT by Romulus

Yesterday's thread on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Summer Plenary Session. turned up a lot of Catholic FReepers suggesting that it's time for the faithful laity to get more visible and active in pressing for a restoration of right order in the Church. To that end, I've decided to develop and maintain a list of Catholic FReepers, sorted by state, as a resource for future activism. Some of us will wish to collaborate on future projects; others may simply find the list handy for purposes of fellowship. If you want to be on this list, please post your state (or overseas country) on this thread. I'll collate whatever comes in, and Askel5 will post the results on the ConSpiratio web site.

In posting your FR handle and location, you're not volunteering for anything except the chance of being contacted in the future. Whatever activism you then undertake is entirely up to you. For the record, I have no specific plan for this list, nor am I aware of anyone else's. It seems like something that needs to be done, however, and I'll wager the very existence of a good list will generate fruitful ideas.

If you prefer not to post your location, please bump the thread anyway. Thanks!

You can add me to your list.

BTW, I attempted to attend my first Latin Mass today. Unfortunately, it was quite a drive and I got lost! But at least I know how to find it next time.

I see what you mean. After reading the article, I'm more convinced than ever that it is our former priest that he is fighting for, unless that 25 yr. thing is just arbitrary.

I'm in Massachusetts in the Worcester Diocese. I can certainly commiserate with all other orthodox Catholics in MA!

Lawyers expect the number of claims lodged against the church by sexual abuse victims to rise.

They are certainly trolling mightily for them! As far as I'm concerned, the lawyers should get a pittance for their work. If they are truly 'for the victims', they should be glad to do a lot of this 'pro bono", but somehow I don't think that is what's happening.

I was telling our priest about this Sunday after Mass, and got the idea to spraypaint a toy calf gold, & mail it to the church. NYer, do you have the address?

This is not a flame. However, it is the Body of Christ. Please be very careful with terminology. Thanks,

You are right, and I should have been paying more attention when I was typing. Going fast is no excuse.

God bless.

Hello, al_c.

Just got back from my first visit to Texas. My nephew was married in Ft. Worth on Friday, and some of us relatives stayed until Monday. I attended mass at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Community in Irving (just across Hwy 183 from my hotel). I had a really good time and would be happy to go back for another visit any time. My brother-in-law insisted that we play golf, even though I havn't swung a club in anger in about 20 years, so we found our way to the Grapevine Municipal course and got through five holes before the b-i-l got nailed by somebody's tee shot and we had to go to the ER at Baylor Medical Center. So we missed the wedding, but I made it to the reception.

I like your weather. I've never experienced a thunder storm like the one on Saturday night.

One of the guys we were paired with on the golf course warned me not to go after a ball I hit in the tall grass off the fairway. He said there are lots of water moccasins lurking in the weeds. Was he pulling my leg?
