and Rigg appeared alongside each other in the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, with Rigg playing the feisty Contessa Teresa "Tracy" di Vicenzo Draco. acclaimed actress known for her role as Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo, the only Bond girl to ever marry 007, Rigg was bestowed her “Dame” title in 1994 for her contributions to all things drama. The iconic Brit suffered from cancer and died surrounded by her family Thursday morning.

Service. Her theater work included a 1992 production of Greek tragedy Medea, for which she won a Tony in the title role, and a 1987 staging of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Follies.

James Bond actress and Game of Thrones star Dame Diana Rigg has died today at the age of 82 following a short battle with cancer. The
British actress made her name in the cult 1961 TV series The Avengers, before going on to star as the cutthroat matriarch Lady Olenna Tyrell in HBO's Game of Thrones. More recently, Rigg appeared as the eccentric Mrs Pumphrey in the 2020 adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small - which aired last night on Channel 5.
