I found myself wondering the other day if every China-made lithium ion battery (in vehicles, laptops, etc.) in the US might be silently listening for some signal telling it to explode into flames.
Or, there really is a multiverse and one is simply hopping from one reality to another. (Which would suggest that the “Big Bang” was actually a “Bigger Bang”.)
As I was telling a friend today, obesity, alcoholism, acid reflux and type 2 diabetes are, IMHO, not diseases, they are decisions. I say this as someone who struggles against one or more of the foregoing myself.
In two weeks I transition from having had a good paying job the past 10 years to being unemployed-but-on-social security. Fortunately I've got some savings and live in a comfortable, affordable home in rural TN.
It felt interesting yesterday to go to the grocery store as a very budget-conscious old man.
The good news is that I have zero trust in our medical system, so I'll never have the medication costs that most retirees incur. Heck, that alone should allow me to vacation in Hawaii!
