If the teleprompter fails, will it make a sound?

    Yes.

“Uh, uh, uh, what, uh, I, uh, mean, uh, to, uh, say, uh, uh, uh...”

So, is your point that if you were to take a fetus and slowly start crushing its feet, then removing its legs, then its arms, and then crush its body before finally crushing its head, it would feel no pain?

    Dear John,

Your idea of paying down mortgages for people who bought high and cannot make their payments is absolutely IDIOTIC!

Imagine two guys living in houses across the street from each other.

Joe has not been making the payments on his house for 8 months. Instead, he has been putting the cash into a savings account figuring he will need it when he finally gets kicked out of his house. He refinanced two years ago and bought a new truck, a car and a boat with the cash.

Larry bought the same model for the same price, refinanced his home and used the money to put his daughter through college. Larry is making his payments monthly.

Joe is going to get a letter from John McCain telling him that he no longer owes as much money on his home as he originally committed to. He gets to keep the truck, car and boat.

    Larry keeps making his payments.

What is wrong with this picture?? I will tell you.

When Larry finds out what happened with Joe, he stops making his payments. Why should he honor a debt when Joe has been given a free pass?

McCain’s proposal has a huge downside risk of leading to higher default rates. It rewards irresponsibility. It pays for Joe’s irresponsibility with OUR tax dollars.

    What an idiot!

Question: Are those legislators who took money from Wall Street required to recuse themselves from this vote?

One thing I would like to see is an SEC rule that does not allow BODs to take “proxy” votes from non-voters.

Many companies will send out proxy notices and include terms which say that if the proxy is not returned, the BOD gets to use that vote.

If corporations were responsible to their shareholders rather than manipulated by BODs who are getting kickbacks on their votes, problems like over-compensation of CEOs, etc would go away.

Also, we would not see corporate sponsorship of political issues like gay marriage that we currently do. PG&E is putting a ton of money into California’s Prop 8 (opposing the protection of marriage) with a total disregard for their shareholders’ opinion on the issue.

Most shareholders would likely not support spending money on that initiative one way or the other.

The poll was clearly a Brown push-poll.

I hung up. How many other McClintock supporters hung up?

I was called on this poll. Here is how it went.

“We are doing a survey with regard to the California District 4 congressional race between retired Air Force officer Charlie Brown, and Southern California politician Tom McClintock”.

Given the framing of their objective, I asked “Are you an independent polling organization” and they said “yes”.

At this point, I asked if they were being paid by any campaign organization, at which they answered “Yes, we are being paid by the Charlie Brown for Congress campaign”.

And I said “I thought so” and hung up.

There were probably a LOT of people like me who figured out it was a stunt poll and hung up on them.

The Chinese are good at taking a piece of equipment and breaking it down, then re-assembling it...and of course, making a factory to build all the pieces so they can then manufacture as many as they want.

I would not be surprised if the Loral Missle technology that Clinton allowed them to steal is being cloned in a secret factory such that their threat is much greater than we even imagine.

I figured out a way that I could vote for McCain.

If he nominated Condoleeza as his VP.

I would then have some hope that McCain would join Castro and Marx after about two years, and Condi could hold the white house for 10.

The untold story here is that Matt Lauer admitted this morning on NBC that this story has been percolating around newsrooms for 3 months.

    THREE MONTHS!!!

Why did they not make it available to the public BEFORE John McCain was nominated?

Answer: They did not want someone other than McCain as the Republican nominee.

Point: The media DOES control our political process. We like to imagine that they do not, but we are wrong. We have to get lucky.

Are we going to let one of our (most of the time) guys take all this incoming ordnance without us showing a little support/backbone?

I will happily attack the NY Times.

I will happily point out how they (and NBC, CBS, etc) withheld a story that could have been published 3 months ago and rendered Romney or Huckabee as the Republican nominees.

But I am not going to support McCain just because the NY Times attacks him. If he did it, he deserves it.

If he did not do it, it does not matter to me because he has done enough that I will NOT say to myself "Well, OK, maybe 15 million permanent visas and another 10-30 million children will be born off those visas" just to stick my finger in the NY Time's eye. I will not go along with McCain's disastrous policies.

This morning I watched the NBC morning news as I made my toast and heard Matt Lauer interviewing Bob Bennett on this issue.

Lauer (Paraprhased) “This story has been bubbling around in newsrooms since early in December, why do you think the NY Times decided to bring it out today?”

Now, regardless of the answer that Bob Bennett provided, there is something that Bob Bennett did not do... he should have immediately said “WHAT?!? YOU knew about this since December and YOU kept it from the public!!!?!?!?”

Lauer admitted that the dinosaur media knew about the charges and withheld them through the entire Republican primary until John McCain could lock it up. Why did they not bring these charges forward sooner?

    Can you say “President Romney”??

They did not want McCain to be hit until they had helped him beat the true conservatives. (OK, when I say “true conservatives” I realize this is a lenient application of the term for either Romney or Huckabee, but miles to the right of McCain)

Its hard to imagine Hillary allowing the election to slip through her fingers. Treachery is not a foreign concept to her.

I am hoping that she pulls a trick out of her hat and gets the super delegates and Florida/Michigan delegates and flips the nomination over.

It would be so much fun to watch.
