FreeRepublic Fundraiser -- Important -- FreeRepublic NEEDS Your Help! (Thread 35)
thread 34 ^ | 8/31 - 9/5/2001 | Ron C. & Topaz

Posted on 09/08/2001 7:06:34 PM PDT by firewalk

It will be very easy for you to say, "Well, I will do something, some day. When I can afford it, I am going to." But would you let an old "grad" tell you one thing now? Giving is a habit. Get into the habit now, because you will never be able to afford to give and contribute, thus to repay the obligation you owe to those people who made this college possible, if you wait until you think you can afford it. Start now regardless of how small, and in the days to come when you are confronted with demands for many worthwhile causes and charities I think you will find that you will give dutifully to all the worthy ones. But here and there you will pick one or two that will be favorites, and you can do no better than to pick this, your Alma Mater, because you will not only be repaying your own personal obligations, you will be making your contribution to the very process which has made and continues to keep America great.
This democracy of ours which sometimes we've treated so lightly, is more than ever a comfortable cloak, so let us not tear it asunder, for no man knows once it is destroyed where or when he will find its protective warmth again. - Ronald Reagan

Help keep the dream alive!

Imagine if there was no Free Republic... gasp!

- No Sore Loserman protests to save an election...

- No Washington Times Ad pushing Congress to Impeach...

- No exposing of traitorous public officials...

- No media watchdog to ferret out the bias...

- No Breaking News...

For these reasons and a thousand others, please support Free Republic

While the large donations are exciting, the small ones may be more treasured ...... they may actually be sacrificial. So don't be reluctant to give if your donation can only be $5 or $10 ..... those are vital to the success of FR. And bumps help, too! :-) - posted by WillaJohns -

Free Republic is a user supported website that runs off the brains, experience, energy, and yes, the cash, of freepers and lurkers. It is an undeniable fact that Free Republic has been instrumental in stopping the liberals with their socialist agenda, and keeping up the fight for conservative causes and against corruption in government.

If you feel strongly that Free Republic has made a difference and you want to see it continue on, please send in a donation of whatever your heart moves you to send.

Topaz,  tomkat, Fiddlstix, Requiem for Truth, RottiBiz and I  will each donate $5 for the first $5 monthly donation from each of the following states. You must live in the state to qualify.  BADJOE will report to us on the thread for our match.

Come on make our day!

$30  for the first $5 monthly donation from each of the following states!

Alaska (Alaska has given sacrificially and we will also honor a monthly if it comes in)
Hawaii (Hawaii has proven to be very generous but we will still honor our committment for a monthly if it comes in)
South Dakota (a monthly has been donated from South Dakota, so we all owe $5 each!)
Delaware (Delaware has stepped up to the plate but we will also honor a monthly if it comes in)
Rhode Island
Idaho (a monthly has been donated from Idaho, so we all owe another $5 each!)
West (by God) Virginia
Wyoming
Montana

We welcome anyone who wishes to join us in this challenge.

An interesting day, today has been. We've more than reached our daily quota, gaining way more than $1,000. We're getting there! Can'tcha feel it?

Some errors have been corrected. Tennessee, Canada, the Great Unknown, and Arizona fell victim to some miscalculations of mine, but these errors have been corrected, and to all intents and purposes, the list is accurate.

Idaho has managed to escape the Pit of Pinkness, although it is still lagging behind all the other States. Perhaps a few more Idahoans could pitch in and help with the effort? Let not your colleague fight this battle alone.

Also, we welcome the Republic of Ireland, with its 8 FReepers, to the State Scoreboard. Welcome, Ireland, and have a fun ride.

As we shift into overnite mode, just keep this sweet, sweet note in mind. Free Republic has managed to raise more than Thirty Thousand United States Dollars since this FReepathon began. That s quite an accomplishment!

Freepathon State Scoreboard

This scoreboard displays how much each of the united States, Government Districts, Territories, Possessions, and other nations have contributed to the Freepathon. (Contrary to what you might think, foreign nations actually do contribute lots of cash...more than some of the States!)

Here are the rules: When you donate to Free Republic (can be done via secure server here, or by a postal address to follow), include your state of origin. When BADJOE posts your donation on the thread with your state, it will be credited to your state in subsequent updates of the list. (Your name or screenname is never revealed by us.) All donations without a location will be credited to the Unknown State, and all states with zero donations from residents of that state will be marked in sissy pink. Requests to put your state, of any donation status, on the sissy pink list will be honored. Foreign countries are granted "diplomatic immunity" from the sissy pink treatment.

Numbers in parenthesis - ( ) - are the number of FReepers who have claimed this location in their FR profile. This in NO WAY reflects the total number of registered FReepers.

The top five ranked states get their state's name in any color they choose. Pending color selection, the top five ranked states will get interim colors picked by me, to make it look nice. If you want to change it, just ask, and it will on the next update of the list.

YOU can immediately put your home state or country on the top of the list NOW! Click HERE to donate to Free Republic via a secure server, or send those checks to:

Let me speak out for a moment about monthly donations.

We run these fundraisers 4 times a year because there's never enough money on hand to pay the bills longer than that.

Each fundraiser we add to the number and amount of monthly donations and we are s l o w l y reaching the point where there could be enough coming in each month to pay the fixed bills. (The legal defense is a whole other story)

Monthly donations give us a steady, dependable source of funds which we can use not just to pay the bills, but for planning how we can grow the site and make it better.

Do you subscribe to your local paper or a magazine? Do you get even half the information from it that you get from FreeRepubic? Of course not. Why not cancel that newspaper or magazine and send the money to FreeRepublic to ensure it's always here when you click that URL www.freerepublic.com

Monthly donations are easy to set up. Use the credit card link and make your intentions known. BADJOE will do all the rest. You can change or cancel your monthly donation at any time using the same link.... no questions asked.

Your personal information is entirely confidential. No one but BADJOE knows how contributes and he only gets the name you use on the credit card. He can't crossreference that to your screen name even if he wants to.

Set up your monthly donation today and move on to guilt free FReeping!

Hello, 2ndMostConservativeBrdMember! How are you tonight?

Also, how was the wedding? A perfect ceremony, a total disaster, or somewhere in between?
