My fellow Freepers may recall a thread concerning the Doonesbury cartoon propagating the hoax on the fake PA institute that reported President George W. Bush had the lowest intelligence of any US president.

I wrote a 'letter to the editor' exposinging that lie. My letter was published last week in my local paper.

Yesterday, I called the Editor of the editorial page and left voice mail about the content of this week's Doonesbury which has made fun of veterans for several days.

I stated that in light of the attack on Americans on Tuesday, 9-11-01; I felt that Doonesbury's topic was inappropriate when our nation is suffering in grief and anger. I added that all Americans owe a debt of gratitude to every Veternan who has protected and preserved our Freedom and our Nation!

I received the following email from the Editor today:

Sorry I did not get back to you yesterday aout Doonesbury. I agree his recent work is tasteless in light of the recent tragedy.

Because his work is sent to us two weeks in advance, it was nearly impossible, for production reasons, for me to pull his work before this Monday. I have decided, however, to temporarily suspend his work beginning on Monday.
Thank you.
