New York, 15 September 2001 (16:33 UTC+2)
The picture is unclear concerning the number of the Greek-Americans, who were killed or are still missing after last Tuesday's terrorist attack in New York. America-World Council for Hellenes Abroad, SAE, president Chris Tomaras believes that there are 24 dead and 120 missing Greek-Americans.
Also, among the passengers of the American Airlines plane that crashed into the first of the Twin Towers was a Greek-American, 32-year-old Michael Theodoridis, an adviser with a big company in Boston.
According to the Greek consulate in New York, officially there are two Greek-Americans missing, Ioanna Achladiotis, 27, and John Katsimatidis, who were both working for an investment firm which had offices at the 101-105 floors of the WTC.

GREECE WILL HELP THE U.S. AVENGE THIS HORRIBLE ACT!!! I'm sorry for the loss, but really, this is about Americans. Why don't we stay away from the ethnicity?
I don't value one group over another, and I hope that you don't.

I've been to Greece. Friendly people, great historic sites, good deals for tourist goods, wonderful chow.
The enemy had better beware. The USA, Britania, and now the Greeks are coming for them!

There are no "Greek-Americans" (or African-Americans, or Italian-Americans, etc.), they are either Greeks or Americans. Which is it? We need to stop this group identity garbage and just all be Americans, all their lives are worth the same amount (infinite) and are loved by God equally.

I have NEVER met a "Greek-American".
I am an American of Greek heritage - I and every American of similar heritage I have ever met, refer to themselves as Americans.
Americans of Greek heritage have not fallen in love with the hyphen.....They love America.

Does Greece need some target practice for their nukes? Aim for those mountains to the east....

That is the beauty of the diversity in our nation. An attack on the United States is an attack on all nations represented by our colorful make-up. It makes it much easier to form alliances.

"Americans of Greek heritage have not fallen in love with the hyphen.....They love America." God bless you and ALL Americans.

Does Greece need some target practice for their nukes? Aim for those mountains to the east.... Turkey? a NATO ally? no, that wouldn't be cool ... don't get the Greeks and Turks fightin' again, get them both lookin' further east to Afghanistan.
We also need to go after Saddam Hussein, in my opinion. We need to remove any and all threat of biological weapons from wacko's such as him and Bin Laden from the planet NOW.

Hey - Britain, France, Germany, Canada and many others countries have stated their support to help us fight this. Don't deny a person from Greece the same sentiment. No kidding. The issue isn't whether or not Greece should help. The issue is that we should get away from the (Insert any Nation Here)-American mentality. These dead people were mostly American. Their color or nation of origin is not of any concern.

Misread this thread. I thought it was about geek-americans. I think the geek-americans will play a very important part in the success of this action.

That is the beauty of the diversity in our nation. An attack on the United States is an attack on all nations represented by our colorful make-up. It makes it much easier to form alliances. Here on the border where I live a local DJ was telling everyone how they needed to fly their US flags and show their colors. Some callers called in saying that wasn't right, we must respect where we came from and that Mexicans should fly the Mexican flag now or fly it with the US flag. Obviously this isn't right if they are living in the US but in a way it's a good thing because if they are with us in this war, maybe it doesn't matter if it's not only our flag and our patriotism.

And I've never met a Middle Eastern-American.
I'm American, born in Brooklyn, raised in New York & California and lived most of my life in the South, as a hard core VRWC Republican.
