PESHAWAR: After the Shoora decision, which concluded on Thursday afternoon , Osama Bin Ladin has reportedly reached Wakhan Corridor near Chinese border.
According to an informed source on the Pak-Afghan border the Taliban officials rushed him towards Chinese.
It is worth mentioning here that much awaited Shoora meeting after thorough discussion on the issue had reached to the conclusion that Osama should vacate Afghanistan in the current critical situation.

The Wakham Corridor is the narrow portion of Afghanistan that connects to CHINA. If this Pakistani report is true -- he is
makin' for the border.
Anyone want to consider the probabilities or potential problems with violating Chinese airspace or territory?

As the Minister of Defense for the Taliban, bin Laden would have to go directly through the Northern Alliance in order to get into China. Given that the Taliban is at war with the Northern Alliance, and bin Laden is the general in charge of that war, I kinda doubt that it is possible for bin Laden to slip through the Northern Alliance's lines and make his way into China. In any event, if he did manage to pull it off, he would have to do so without the personal bodyguard that he likes to carry around with him.

For routing, from research provided by FreeRepublic's own "amom" please go to this link to
The Three Passes of Wakham.Remember also that the Pak frontier along this corridor is bin Laden's old stomping ground.

The Wakham Corridor is the narrow portion of Afghanistan that connects to CHINA. It is also under the control of the Northern Alliance - Unlikely that our boy would go there.

Please post a link to information indicating that this corridor is under their control. I realize they are holed up in the Panjshir Valley (which sits somewhat astride the approach to the Wakham corridor)but my thread
here seems to indicate that they have dynamited the passes into their stronghold which would, in essence, keep them from blockading the corridor. This is why I put in amom's information about the three passes into and through the corridor.
I am no authority of any sort in this matter....just trying to post info from the area that may need dissimination. If you have better information we would apprecitate it, unless it has to do with our forces actions or plans....then mums the word.
